THANK YOU FOR 10k READS WHILST I WAS AWAY
Eliot and Taylor sat in the lounge, the soft glow of the TV illuminating their faces as a movie played in the background. They were physically close, yet a palpable distance hung between them. Taylor's mind raced with memories of their past intimacy, the ease with which they once touched and held each other. Now, every gesture felt loaded, every glance charged with unspoken emotion.
Taylor felt a burning desire to lean into Eliot, to rest her head on his shoulder like she used to. She missed the comfort and warmth of his embrace. But she held herself back, her muscles tense with restraint. Eliot, ever perceptive, noticed her discomfort. He turned to her, his voice breaking the silence.
"You can touch me, you know?"
"What?" She asked in confusion.
"I looked us up online. We were touchy. You look like you're in pain trying to restrain yourself."
Taylor glanced at him, her heart skipping a beat. She saw the sincerity in his eyes, the genuine invitation to bridge the gap between them. Slowly, she smiled and reached for his hand, entwining her fingers with his. The simple act felt monumental, a small victory in their journey to reclaim what they had lost.
They watched the movie in silence, the connection of their hands grounding them. Taylor felt a sense of peace, a glimmer of the bond they once shared. She savoured the moment, wishing it could last forever. But nature called, and she reluctantly pulled her hand away, standing up to go to the bathroom.
As she moved to leave, Eliot's voice rushed out, filled with a mix of urgency and vulnerability. "Can I come with you?"
Taylor turned back, confused. "I'm just going to pee."
Eliot flushed, his cheeks turning pink. "I mean to Edinburgh. To watch you perform your tour. Just until... until I'm cleared to play the World Cup."
The question hung in the air, a blend of hope and uncertainty. Taylor's heart swelled with emotion. She saw in his eyes a genuine desire to reconnect, to be part of her life despite the fog of lost memories.
A grin spread across her face, and she nodded. "I'd love that."

Taylor and Eliot stood at the entrance of the private jet terminal, the hustle and bustle of the airport a distant hum. Taylor adjusted her sunglasses and took a deep breath, the cool air of early morning filling her lungs. Beside her, Eliot was leaning against the wall, sunglasses propped on his head. His eyes sparkled with a mixture of excitement and relief—relief to be leaving behind the stress and chaos of the past few months, and excitement for the adventure ahead.
The flight attendant greeted them with a warm smile, guiding them to the sleek, luxurious jet that awaited them. Taylor walked ahead, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and nervousness. This trip was more than just another leg of her tour; it was a chance to rebuild something that had been fractured by the cruel hand of fate.
Eliot followed closely, his gait steady despite the slight limp. His eyes roamed over the plush interior of the jet, the cream-coloured leather seats, and the elegant decor. He couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude and awe—gratitude for Taylor's unwavering support and awe at the life she lived, one he was now a part of.
Once seated, Taylor reached over and took Eliot's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He turned to her, his expression softening. She offered him a smile, one that spoke of hope and determination. The engines roared to life, and soon they were airborne, the city below shrinking into a patchwork of lights and shadows.
