"Oh, I barely managed to convince him; it's Krampus, no one tells him what to do. All I had to say was-" and in Aelfric's best mock-sympathetic voice, "'Ravenna is fond of the little duplicate, Krampus. She'll be so sad if you kill her - again.'" He paused, wondering how much their lady knows yet. Well, she will eventually. That's unavoidable.

At this point, Aelfric was pacing back and forth along the roof of the building he stood, getting worked up in the conversation. He continued after the other person on the call made a comment.

"And now he's conflicted, and frustrated that he's conflicted. Honestly, I'm equally surprised he's showing so much restraint and mercy, especially for anyone else." He rubbed the back of his neck, looking off at one of the ravens hopping around and pulling at another's tail playfully. "Then again, the power of the fated bond is very real and influential."

Aelfric listened for a beat before answering. "Well, yeah. Because he's the Original Hybrid," he mocked, though without real intent. Using their shared accent to sound like the hybrid even more. "Love is a weakness - blah, blah, blah. And then, completely contradicted himself in saying: 'Ravenna's different, she's not a weakness'." Aelfric chortled, speaking into his phone as he found a perch above on a building over from the bar. "He's not wrong in the latter admission. I think he's confusing himself because he's not used to caring for another like this, aside from his siblings - don't get me started on that. This family needs therapy."

The man stopped pacing, one hand at his hip as he leaned on one foot. "He's obsessed with her for centuries; as did Kol and Elijah, the former most obviously, but he's suddenly second guessing himself now that he's faced with her, well, existing. The real deal is a whole different story in itself." He paused, listening. "I know. He's aware of the implications, and how sensitive the situation could be, but he's at least given it a time frame. He can't wait too long, just makes it all the worse for her and him."

As he spoke, Aelfric thought back on the pros and cons of Klaus shift in his character, even if just a part. All the better for most, but it seems he's adjusting to a new part of his life, and it's throwing him entirely off kilter.

Poor man.

"Unfortunately, witches talked over the centuries; now, it's known the hybrid and his brothers share a fated mate. They'll be coming out of the woodwork and, well, beyond the Other Side - fucking dead witches." The vampire knew well how nasty these witches will be once they know about her, and wherever she may go. Vampiric enemies, included. Live long enough, you'll collect yourself legions of enemies, more than the few possible allies. "They just don't know the whole story behind this particular fated."

He could imagine the complications for an immortal as the first of his kind; enemies would see a vulnerability to finally exploit, but Aelfric sees this new change as a good thing.

"The Mikaelsons have no idea what kind of gift and power they've been handed. Not yet. And I doubt she even wholly knows, not until the ritual." Aelfric continued to watch the ravens flock around the bar, about fifteen now. "And the most terrifying thing is that when they find out...they could become unstoppable. If the witches find out, they'll go crazy. Let's just hope that our Mistress will stay balanced. We can only guide her so far."

Green eyes narrowed as the ravens watched the doors, waiting. Were they following them this entire time?

Some observed him, but there was a sense of growing magic peering through.

A raven caws, pulling him back to the bar, several more hopped and stared ahead when another figure left: Klaus. Gaining the hybrids curious look, he saw how the hybrid paused and observed them, too, before smirking and turning away. Aelfric spotted the ripper follow suit.
