Izuku and Cyrika sat in the outdoor courtyard together. The sun was bright, a hot day considering it was the fall. The school courtyard's stone was hot, if you stepped on it with bare feet you were guaranteed to get burned as if you touched a stovetop. Izuku and Cyrika sat on one of the metal picnic tables. Saved from being scorched by a large tree that obscured them from the sun, letting them relax without worry.
They Peacefully chatted about miscellaneous topics. Like most days these topics mainly revolved around Allmight. While Cyrikas Allmight's obsession had faded as she got older Izuku’s had only grown stronger. When she would go to his house for sleepovers she would always be amazed by the plethora of Allmight merchandise he possessed. He had an Allmight ricecooker! She didnt even know they made those!
Izuku and Cyrika hung out a lot. When they were younger they were distant, only really friends because Katsuki kept them together. But when he started to change they clung to each other, it was strange but it worked. Izuku felt safe around Cyrika. Most students in the school would either bully him for his lack of quirk or outright ignore the bullying. But Cyrika was one of the few who stood up for him. Well, she attempted to. The school would always find a way of excusing Katsuki’s behavior much to Cyrika’s rage. Izuku had become accustomed to the favoritism people gave Katsuki. He didn't enjoy it, in fact he loathed it. But he had to live with it. Cyrika was very different, she didn't want to live with it and she wouldn't accept it.
Izuku always did feel bad for Cyrika no matter how much she told him she wasn't the one suffering. Izuku had always been like that though. Pushing his own suffering away to help others, that's why Cyrika thought he would make a great hero, if he had a quirk… Izuku felt awful. He felt awful that he was the one who destroyed Cyrika and Katsuki’s friendship. Maybe if he wasn't there they would have stayed friends, but he was. Whenever Izuku brought this up or apologized Cyrika would always respond the exact same way without fail.
“This again?” Cyrika groaned, laying down on the bench. Izuku winced,
“I- Im serious! I just… I don't want you to feel like you can't be friends with Kaachan because of me…” He bit his lip and looked away, clutching onto the fabric of his uniform pants. Cyrika rolled her eyes, sitting up.
“Zuku. That's not why i'm not friends with him.” She began, making Izuku pause and turn to her.
“Well- granted it's a pretty big part of it. But not in the way you think.” She added.“I dont like Katsuki because he bullies you. That's true, but I also don't like him for a ba-jillion other reasons!” She said, spreading her arms out like an explosion for effect.
“Hes mean, egotistical, cocky and overall just a sucky guy. Even if you never went here I would've still stopped being friends with him. I can't be friends with someone like that.” She explained, huffing and making her wings puff up. Izuku sighed but nodded. Reluctantly dropping the subject.🪶
Bakugou grumbled as he walked through the halls. He didn't even really like having friends. The two dumbasses just happened to follow him around all the time and wouldn't leave him alone. He never asked for their names. He never cared. If he DID care he would know their names were Tsubasa and Kenji. Two boys who were the self acclaimed best friends of Katsuki Bakugou. He never bothered to outright deny it. But Bakugou sent them hints, yelling at them, telling them to get lost, every trick in the book. None of them worked. So he settled to tolerate them. It was better than Deku…
“Hey Bakugou~ look who it is~” he knew that teasing tone. And he knew exactly what it meant. He stopped and glared at Kenji who leaned on the wall facing the open courtyard. Rolling his eyes,
“Go fuck yourself.” He scoffed, continuing to walk. Tsubasa walked over to Kenji and looked out the window.
“I'm surprised she's back already! I thought she got suspended for a week after that stunt…” Tsubasa mused, making Bakugou freeze, gritting his teeth. The stunt in question was a fight that had broken out between Katsuki and Cyrika. They had to be pulled off eachother. Katsuki didn't get punished since Cyrika technically started it. While she did initiate the fight she started it because Katsuki was going to use his quirk on Midoriya.
“When has she ever followed any rule?” Katsuki scoffed, begrudgingly walking over to the window. Tsubasa shrugged,
“Good point. Isn't her Mom a detective? A bit ironic huh?” Tsubasa chuckled. Katsuki rolled his eyes.He knew Yuri, just like he knew Inko. And he knew very well that despite being a detective she would tell Cyrika that snitches get stitches and wouldn't bat an eye if the girl shoplifted from a grocery store. Yuri was a very odd woman. She looked over petty crimes every single day and never did anything about it, finding the things they were getting in trouble for ridiculous.
“You've been friends with her since you were little, right?” Kenji asked. Katsuki rolled his eyes, not bothering to answer. Looking out the window and spotting Cyrika and Izuku. Scoffing when he saw them together. Kenji snickered,
“OooOOo! Somebodys jealous~” He teased. Bakugou grit his teeth.
“SHUT IT EXTRA!” He yelled, grabbing Kenji by his uniform collar. Katsuki was indeed jealous. You would never catch him dead admitting this though. Katsuki was well aware of his feelings for Cyrika and what they were. And despite how hard he had tried, they never went away. No matter how many times she yelled at him, got into fights with him or insulted him. The feelings stayed the same.
“What I'm not wrong!” Kenji laughed as Bakugou let go of his collar. Bakugou walked off again, the boys trailing behind him.🪶
Izuku blinked, looking towards one of the upper windows of the school, tilting his head to the side. Cyrika paused looking over at him,
“Yo, Zuku. You good?” She asked, propping herself up with her arms. Izuku paused,
“Yeah- I just thought I heard something…” He chuckled. Cyrika sighed,
“Probably just some people running down the hall. Who cares!” She sighed leaning back on the bench and lying down. Izuku shrugged. The duo continuing their scheduled break time as normal🪶FUN FACT🪶
Yuri finds the justice system unfair and prejudiced. That's the reason she doesn't care about petty crimes. In her mind there are far more pressing issues than some teenager taking a keychain from a Walmart.
