Cyrika groaned tapping her feet on the stone courtyard floor,
“This is dumb.” She scoffed. Izuku laughed,
“Its not that bad- I mean we get to learn more about our families! That could be cool!” Izuku attempted to cheer her up. Cyrika rolled her eyes,
“But thats so boring!” She groaned sprawling out on her desk.Their social studies teacher had assigned them a new project. To look at their families histories and how it connected to you, their quirks, their nationalities, etcetera. Cyrika found this idiotic. One she had never met anyone on her mothers side of the family. Yuri didnt like to talk about them, Cyrika never knew why but she didnt question, not wanting to probe where she shouldnt. And of course her Dad was nowhere to be found so there was no way she was getting any of that…
“I mean- your Mom’s a detective! She could probably find some cool stuff through the files right?” Izuku reasoned. He knew Cyrika was smart, he had seen her do some pretty cool stuff. The reason why she got bad grades was because she just didnt care…
“Isnt that illegal? To go through police records without proper permission or reasoning?” Cyrika questioned, gently flapping her wings.Izuku paused nervously shrugging, making Cyrika scoff a large smirk growing on her face.
“No way! Goody two shoes ‘Zuku is encouraging me to suggest breaking the law! Oh have far you have fallen!” Cyrika dramatically gasped, rolling onto her back on the table and posing dramatically, her hand on her forehead like a dying damsel.
“I am not! I- Im just trying to encourage you!” Izuku fought back, getting up, blushing from embarrassment.
“Oh sure you arent! Mark my words in a couple of weeks you’ll be shoving a pocket knife in my face!” Cyrika laughed.
“Will not!”
“Will too!
“Will not!
“Will too!
“Will too!”
“Will no-”“IZUKU YOU JERK!” Cyrika whined, angry at herself for falling to his devious trickery. Izuku snorted.
“A jerk? I thought i was evil?” He teased. Cyrika snorted, rolling her eyes and getting up from the table.
“Oh shut it.” She laughed. Cyrika got up from the table,
“Knowing my Mom she wouldnt mind bending the law…She still tells me I shouldnt snitch and shes a detective. Its a bit funny honestly…” Cyrika rambled, grabbing the crappy phone her mom had given her.Cyrika would get a real phone when she turned fourteen, but her Mother didnt want her going out or walking to school without a way to contact her. So she got her an old phone. It wasnt good but it was a way to contact her. Cyrika dialed the number into the phone, putting it up to her ear and waiting for her mothers voice as it dialed. The ringing abruptly stopped, muffled noise ringing out from the call line.
“Rika? Whats going on?” Though her mothers voice was casual she could detect a small bit of worry. It wasnt surprising, she didnt use her phone often so when she did it was normally an emergency.“Nothing- I just have a school project I need help with.” Cyrika explained.
“Alright whats the project?” Yuri grunted.
“Well we have to research our parents and family, but i dont really know much about either. So I was thinking, to get my teacher to lay off could you get Dads criminal record? Y’know to spook her?” Cyrika suggested, giggling evilly. Yuri laughed,
“Alright sure, il get his records, you arent going to be able to bring them in though. The records stay at the station unless its a court hearing so ill just take some pictures.” Yuri offered. Cyrika hummed,
“That sounds good Mom.” She hummed, popping the soda can she had bought with some of her allowance.
“Rika you bought soda didnt you?” Yuri deadpanned. Cyrika paused,
“AlrightMomgottagobyeeeee!” The call cut out making Yuri chuckle, setting down her phone, stretching and getting up.
