Chapter 63: A Pure Punjabi Wedding

The day of the wedding dawned bright and beautiful, a perfect setting for a grand celebration. Aashna’s heart pounded with excitement and nervousness as she got ready. Today, she would marry Virat, the love of her life, and join his wonderful family. The air was filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers, and the sounds of dhols and Punjabi folk songs echoed through the halls.

Aashna looked stunning in her red and gold bridal lehenga, her jewelry sparkling under the sunlight. As she gazed at herself in the mirror, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotions. Her friends and family buzzed around her, making sure every detail was perfect.

“Wow, Aashna, you look absolutely gorgeous,” Meera said, her eyes shining with admiration.

“Thank you,” Aashna replied, taking a deep breath. “I can’t believe it’s finally happening.”

Meanwhile, at Virat’s house, the groom and his entourage were getting ready with equal enthusiasm. Virat looked dashing in his ivory sherwani and matching turban. His friends and teammates were in high spirits, teasing him and sharing jokes.

“Looking sharp, Kohli!” Rohit Sharma said, giving him a playful nudge. “Ready to become a married man?”

“More than ready,” Virat replied, adjusting his turban. “I just hope I don’t trip or something.”

“Don’t worry, we’ve got your back,” Shubman Gill said, laughing. “Just focus on your bride.”

The wedding venue was a picturesque sight. The mandap was adorned with marigolds, roses, and twinkling fairy lights, creating a magical ambiance. Guests began to arrive, their colorful attire adding to the festive atmosphere.

Aashna made her grand entrance, escorted by her brother Abhishek. As she walked towards the mandap, she felt overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. She was marrying into a family that had welcomed her with open arms and a man who loved her deeply.

Virat watched her approach, his heart pounding in his chest. She looked like a vision, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He felt awestruck by her beauty and the significance of the moment.

When Aashna reached the mandap, they exchanged smiles, their eyes reflecting the love they had for each other. The priest began chanting the sacred mantras, and the ceremony commenced.

One of the most anticipated moments was the varmala (garland exchange) ceremony. As Virat and Aashna stood facing each other with their garlands, Abhishek decided to have some fun. He lifted Aashna up, making it difficult for Virat to place the garland around her neck.

“Come on, Abhishek, give me a break!” Virat laughed, trying to reach Aashna.

The guests burst into laughter, enjoying the playful moment. Despite the challenge, Virat managed to place the garland around Aashna’s neck, earning cheers and applause from the crowd.

When it was Aashna’s turn to put the garland on Virat, his friends decided to return the favor. They lifted Virat up, making it equally difficult for Aashna. But Virat, ever the gentleman, bowed down, making it easier for her to complete the ritual.

“Nice move, Kohli!” Rohit teased, clapping him on the back.

After the varmala, Virat gently kissed Aashna on the forehead, a tender gesture that made her heart flutter. She responded by kissing him on the nose, causing another round of cheers and teasing from their friends and family.

The ceremony continued with the traditional rituals, each step bringing them closer to being officially pronounced husband and wife. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and the blessings of their loved ones.

As the ceremony concluded, Aashna and Virat felt a deep sense of fulfillment. They were now married, ready to embark on a new journey together. They walked hand in hand, receiving congratulations and warm wishes from everyone.

The reception that followed was a lively affair. Guests danced to Punjabi beats, enjoyed delicious food, and shared stories. Kiara, dressed in a mini version of Aashna’s lehenga, was the star of the evening, her energy and excitement contagious.

As the night drew to a close, it was time for the newlyweds to head to their new home. Virat’s sleek black Porsche was ready, and the couple prepared to leave, feeling a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration.

Kiara, worn out from all the festivities, had fallen asleep in Aashna’s arms. As they settled into the car, their friends and family gathered around to bid them farewell.

“Take good care of her, Virat,” Abhishek said, hugging his sister one last time. “And you, Aashna, remember we’re just a call away.”

“I will, Bhaiya,” Aashna replied, tears in her eyes. “Thank you for everything.”

As they drove away, their friends couldn’t resist one last round of teasing. “Hey Virat, it’s your first night! Make it memorable!” Rohit shouted, causing everyone to laugh.

“Get some rest, you two!” Shubman added, winking. “You’ve got a big day ahead.”

Aashna and Virat laughed, feeling the warmth and support of their loved ones. As they sped down the quiet roads, they looked at each other, their hearts full.

“I still can’t believe we’re married,” Aashna said softly, glancing at Virat.

“Me neither,” Virat replied, smiling. “But I couldn’t be happier.”

They drove through the city, the soft hum of the engine and the gentle breathing of a sleeping Kiara the only sounds. As they approached their new home, Aashna felt a sense of peace and contentment.

They carried Kiara inside, tucking her into her new bed. She stirred slightly but remained asleep, her tiny face relaxed and peaceful. Aashna and Virat stood by her bedside, watching her for a moment.

“She’s going to love it here,” Aashna said, her voice filled with emotion.

“She will,” Virat agreed, wrapping his arm around Aashna. “And so will we.”

As they finally settled into their own room, they felt the weight of the day lift off their shoulders. They were tired but incredibly happy, ready to start their new life together.

“Good night, Mrs. Kohli,” Virat said, pulling Aashna close.

“Good night, Mr. Kohli,” Aashna replied, smiling.

As they drifted off to sleep, they knew that their journey was just beginning. With love, laughter, and the support of their wonderful family and friends, they were ready to face whatever the future held.

And as the moonlight streamed through the window, casting a gentle glow over them, Aashna and Virat knew that their love story had only just begun.
