GCSE struggles

Omfg my life is such a drag, my dumb school is trying to make me change my GCSE subjects.
Because bacically you could choose 4 subjects that you want to do next year for GCSEs so I chose the following
Art
Drama
Media
Photography
And today I was called up to the year office about this and they told me that I had to choose an ebacc subject which would look good on my university application even though I have no plan to go to university.
So they are making me drop a subject that I would do well at and enjoy for a subject that I would hate and I would fail at.
And as you know I always constantly have problems with the school I go to if you know me although the you haven't really heard some of the story's, but I'll save those for another time. because there all very long story's which each be their own blogposts.
So anyway, I told my mum this evening what happend and so she responded with an emAil I which she sent to the school and this is why it said:
Re: GCSE choices for Samantha Hird
To whom it may concern,

I understand that Sammi is being forced to take an Ebacc class and drop one of the subjects she really wants to do. Although we are being told that it is for the student's benefit I have read all the articles in the media about how it is basically about the school's own rating. These are merely the subjects that Nick Gibbs believes are the best ones , despite there being no evidence to back this up.
Sammi was actually looking forward to school in September which, if you know Sammi, is a really big change. She is not generally happy in school and with her attention problems finds it impossible to concentrate on subjects she has no interest in, this leads to poor relationships with those teachers and a feeling of victimisation and rebellion.
The fact is you can force Sammi to take an EBacc subject but you cannot make her work at it, do homework for it or even turn up for the exam and this is just what would happen if she is forced to do any of those subjects she has no interest in and nothing but disdain for. There is no chance you would get the required C grade you are looking for.
This seems a lot like the iPad scam where you told parents that the iPads were necessary for school work and unemployed parents end up paying out money that cannot afford every month so the school can make a profit. This is purely about progress 8, the new school performance measure and not about the student's education at all.
Sammi has a good chance to turn her education around if she is happier and doing things she enjoys. In fact I believe it is the only chance she has to come out of school with any qualifications. We fully support Sammi's choices and only wish there had been more slots available so she could do music and dance too. I would be very unhappy if she had to drop photography as she wants to be a writer and this is complementary to the media studies course. She is also a very good photographer and we have already bought her an SLR canon camera in anticipation of beginning the course and we have been attending the Pudsey camera club and getting a lot of advice and inspiration.
I hope you can see the logical reasons for not stripping Sammi of a subject she can do well in for a subject she will fail at.

Yours Faithfully
Carol Hird
