Iᴠʏ ᴡᴀs ᴏɴʟʏ sɪx ʏᴇᴀʀs ᴏʟᴅ, ᴡʜᴇɴ ʜᴇʀ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛs ᴅɪᴇᴅ. She was sitting in the living room, on a soft carpet colouring a book, while humming a melody. Her sisters were with her. Jude, Taryn and Vivienne. Jude and Vivi were watching cartoon, and Taryn was napping. Ivy was the youngest, Jude and Taryn were twins, and Vivi was the oldest of all of them. Vivi was also different, from the rest of them, but it that thought never hit Ivy.
But she couldn't deny that the other kids avoided them at school. Maybe it was because of her pointy ears. But Ivy didn't think it was any weirder than Jude and Taryn, who were almost identically with their shaggy brown hair, and heart shaped faces. Also, Ivy looked a lot like Taryn and Jude. And they weren't even triplets!
Suddenly, a knock came, and Jude almost flew from the couch to answer the door. Ivy didn't even look up from her colouring book. She only glanced up, when she could hear Jude yell: "Mom! Moooooom! Someone's here!" Ivy slowly stood up. She looked to the door, out of curiosity.
She saw a tall man, glaring down to Jude. He wore brown leather duster despite the heat. His shoes were shod with silver, and the rang hollowly as he stepped over the threshold. Ivy looked at him in curiosity. Her mother came from the kitchen and took one look at the man, and went pale.
"Go to your room." She whispered. Ivy jumped away from them and fumbled back to the living room, where Vivi looked confused at her. Jude didn't move one bit.
"Who's at the door?" Vivo asked groggily.
"A scary man," mumbled Ivy and looked back. "We're supposed to go upstairs,"
Vivi sighed, and shook Taryn awake. Ivy's thought were filled about the man. She looked long enough at him, to see that he looked scarily much like Vivi. Her, Vivi and Taryn was soon joined by Jude who looked scared, to her sisters.
They walked out to the stairs, and the next thing that happened all seemed like a blur, to Ivy. Her father, who've never even raised a hand towards Ivy, swung an axe towards the scary man. Now, it wasn't unfamiliar to see him with an axe. What was unfamiliar, was seeing him attack someone with it.
Out of Ivy's mouth came a high pitched weird sound. Suddenly, her father was on the floor, and the man was standing with a sword - a sword from fairytales.
The rug under their feet's were turning red, and Ivy looked at her father's dead body with such horror in her eyes. She saw her mother yell something, and then try to run, only to be stabbed too. It felt unreal. It had to be a dream. Ivy wouldn't believe, that her parents were gone. For ever. She felt scared. What if the tall man wanted to kill her too? She whimpered, and jumped towards her mother with Taryn.
She cried, as her mother's eyes wouldn't open. As she remained silent. She didn't even listen to what the people around her were saying. "I hate you." Vivi said loudly, to the man. "I will always hate you. I vow it." Ivy wanted to vow it too. Right in that moment, she hated that tall man so so much. But nothing came out of her mouth.
Instead, she got hurried upstairs from Vivi, who told them to pack their most beloved possessions. Vivi explained to Ivy, how they had to travel with the man, who apparently was Vivi's father.
It was all too much for Ivy's head to take in.Later, Ivy was sitting on a horse, crumpled together like bagage with Jude and Taryn. Her and her sisters wept the whole way into Faerieland.
