Shadows painted over the masked faces of the guards as their feet took the last steps of the descent. Glowing orbs flickered across the massive crystallized walls of the cavern. They ushered them closer, a new chamber, unlike anything they've thought it to be.
The second guard glanced a worried look at the Commander, "should we go in?"
"That's what your job is," the Commander grunted, suppressing her annoyance.
"I mean, is it safe? The noises of shuffling feet whispered behind them, the rest waiting anxiously.
"Why don't you go and see?" She pushed him into the chamber.
Screams erupted from his mouth, eyes growing wide as his skin quickly turned red hot, covered in boils. The second guard started dragging himself to the hallway, his screeches swiftly turning to rasps. He shuttered then froze, the bumpy desolated skin starting to ooze.
The Commander sighed, "of course it isn't. A Heart supplies the most radiation, it would be known if I wasn't surrounded by fools."
