Onyx tapped her foot slightly, sitting in the plush chair of the news station, eyes flicking to the cameras. Ever since they'd defeated the Preeminent a few months ago, the ninjas' popularity had skyrocketed. It had led to merchandise, cosplay events, tabloids, and interviews, like the one Onyx was about to be in. She wasn't exactly a fan of all the popularity, but then again, they were paid good money for the most part.

"Eyes on me. Only look at the camera when you're talking to the audience," the talk show host across from her said. Onyx dragged her eyes back to her. "Thirty seconds 'till we're on air!" The cameraman called. "Thank you thirty!" The TV station employees replied. Onyx smoothed her hair and adjusted her gi. She had no idea what questions were going to be asked, and she needed to be prepared for the social battlefield. A few seconds later, the reporter nodded, and a red 'ON AIR' sign flared to life behind the cameras.

The interviewer immediately turned to the camera. "Hello Ninjago! Today we have a much-requested guest! Meet Onyx, the hunter green ninja!" She said, before turning back to the teen and holding up a box. "So, Onyx. In this box we have slips of paper, and each one has a question from a fan. I'll be drawing them randomly and asking you!" She said. Onyx nodded. It was a simple-enough concept.

The host smiled and stuck her hand into the box, pulling out the first slip and reading it. "Ah, this first one is easy. Evie Moritz asks... 'how tall are you?" She said. Onyx smiled lightly. That one was simple enough. "Ah... 5'6''. I'm just barely taller than Jay," she said. The woman grinned and reached in for another. "Hm... Josh Grendel asks... what is your favourite sandwich?" Onyx smiled. "Tomato! But I also just like the bread. Bread is good," she answered, relaxing a bit.

The questions went on, some fun, some simple, and some somewhat embarrassing. Onyx chose not to answer what the strangest thing a fan has asked her to sign was. And then came the question that she'd been dreading. The host pulled out a slip and immediately grinned. "So, Onyx. Let's have a little girl talk for a minute." She leaned in conspiratorially and spoke in a stage whisper. "What's going on with you and Lloyd? Everybody's talking about it," she said.

Onyx managed to prevent her brow from furrowing. The tabloids had been all over the two of them since Kai posted a photo of them on his Chirp account. Apparently he'd snapped a photograph of the time the two had fallen asleep next to each other on the Bounty, back when they were heading to the Island of Darkness. Onyx weighed her words carefully. 'Don't tell them you're going out with him tonight...' Onyx smirked and looked to the camera. "That's for us to know," she said playfully.

The host grinned, deciding to bite. "Oh, come on. You can't just leave it at that! Give us something!" She weedled. Onyx laughed and leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. "Nope! I wouldn't want to ruin the fun," she said. The host pushed her lips out into a playful pout. "Aww, you're really going to leave us with that?" She said. Onyx grinned. "I'll let you use your imagination," she said. Though she'd much prefer the fans didn't. She'd come across one too many... Ah... questionable fanfictions. Even Kai and Jay wouldn't tease them about those.

Before another question could be asked, a soft buzzer went off. The host clapped her hands together. "And that's our time. Please give it up for Onyx!" She said. An applause track went off before the On Air sign flickered off and she was free to go. Onyx sighed and got to her feet, letting the host show her out.

Once she was backstage, she pulled the bobby-pins out of her hair and sighed as the pressure on her scalp eased. "I think your hair is a lot prettier when you let it do whatever it wants," Lloyd's voice said. Onyx jumped about a foot in the air when he seemingly appeared from nowhere. "Geez, Lloyd! You nearly gave me a heart attack," she said once her heart rate had slowed back to normal. Lloyd grinned. "No dying until after our date," he said teasingly. Onyx laughed. "I don't plan on dying for a while," she responded. Lloyd grinned and offered his hand. "Ready to go?" He asked. She smiled and took it. "Ready," she said.
