Walk the Plank!

It was nearly an hour later that several pirates entered their little cell and roughly yanked them up. "What are you doing!?" Onyx spat, dropping the Stiixian. Her cover was blown anyway. "Cap'n's orders," the bearded man dragging her growled gruffly. She could hear the others complaining as well, though Onyx was more concerned that, as the four were dragged up onto the deck, there was a wooden plank suspended over the sky. And below that... the ocean. A cold chill ran through Onyx.

Onyx's eyes met with Nya's. The blue pair were wide and glimmering with fear she couldn't quite hide. Onyx knew hers were much the same. "You wouldn't dare!" Nya spat at the orange captain floating uncomfortably close to her. Nadakhan cackled. "I make the orders around here. The sooner you learn that, the smoother it will go," he said, the threat in his voice barely veiled. Nya's lip twisted. "You hurt them and you can forget about any deal," she spat.

Nadakhan leaned in closer and traced a hand over Nya's wrist. Jay struggled against his captor, Lloyd made a furious sound in his throat, while Cole glared and Onyx's eyes widened in fury. "Then agree to marry me right now and it'll all be over," Nadakhan leered. Nya was practically spitting by now. "Nya, don't do it. It'll make him all powerful and-!" Nadakhan cut Cole off. "The black one goes first," Nadakhan said coldly, snapping at Cole, who was suddenly shoved onto the plank. Onyx gasped softly.

"I won't ask you again, Nya. Give me your hand, and they live. I remind you, below us is nothing but ocean. And just what does water do?" Nadakhan said in a patronizing voice that reminded Onyx of children's shows. "Nya, you can't," Lloyd said urgently. "The only thing this guy deserves to get hitched to is a rocket," Onyx spat. Nadakhan smirked. "Too late, girl," he said. Onyx's nose wrinkled in surprise.

Flintlocke stepped forward. "I don't get it. We should be pushing her over. You said that all that matters is Djinjago, not her," he said, mustache trembling in confusion. "Quiet, you hairy-lipped fool. Or should there be one more walking that plank? Push him over," Nadakhan snapped. Onyx yanked against her chains as two crewmembers stepped towards Cole... but he spoke before they could touch him.

"Wait! Don't I get any last words?" Cole said quickly. Nadakhan paused, his expression mildly irritated. "Humor me," he said dryly. "I wish-" Cole began. Nya's eyes widened in horror. "Cole! Don't do it!" Jay cried desperately. Nadakhan's own eyes glimmered with interest. "You wish?" He prompted. "I wish Vengestone didn't stop our powers, but made them stronger!" Cole finished.

The effects of his wish happened immediately. Onyx felt power surging through her body in a burst that was almost painful. She whipped around and struck the pirate behind her with a blast of shadow. Around her, the other ninja began fighting off their captors with their own powers. "I can't believe it worked!" Cole exclaimed. "If he's within earshot, he has to grant the wish!" Lloyd realized, flanking Jay and blasting a pirate away. "Get them!" Nadakhan cried.

"I wish someone told me we were gonna use wishes!" Nya cried. "Your wish is yours to keep," Nadakhan hissed. Onyx's eyes widened as Lloyd spoke, his face twisting with confusion as he did. "Careful not to waste wishes. That's two down, with eight left," he said. The moment Lloyd finished, his hand flew to his mouth. "I didn't mean to-?" Onyx blasted a pirate away from his back. "Remember the rules: you can't wish for love, death, or more wishes," Cole said quickly, flipping over a female pirate and shoving her off of the ship.

Onyx stiffened in pain as her powers suddenly surged stronger. Too strong. She could feel the elemental power filling her and oozing from her mouth. She coughed and spat tangible darkness to the deck. Jay cried out as a bolt of lightning, larger than she'd seen him summon before, surged from his hands. "Cole's wish has made our powers too strong. I can't control it. No, I knew this was a bad idea but nobody listens!" He shrieked.
