Chapter 13 - A Watercolor Blur
“Do you have any important information to give me, ‘Akari’?” The almost silent voice of Grey Serpent reverberated around the dark, quiet room
“None so far.” Kiara said “Didn't I say that I’ll just contact you if I have anything?”
“Give me bimonthly reports until the end of this year.”
“By ‘bimonthly,’ you mean a report every two months?”
“Yes.” Grey Serpent answered with his usual indifferent tone “Make sure to take advantage of your position as well. Rise up the ranks and excel, but do not make yourself suspicious under any circumstances, am I clear?”
“Crystal.”
“Good. I expect the next report to have something useful.”
“Of course…” Kiara answered, but she inwardly cursed herself and Grey Serpent ‘Fuck you… The moment an opportunity arises to escape, I will take it.’
She had thought of snitching to Schicksal. Kiara rarely ever snitches, but her life is literally on the line right now
She's still a coward nonetheless
Kiara knows she can never grow out of that kind of mindset
Because cowards survives
“Also, since you are now out of my grasp, I will share to you one single piece of information to assure that you do not betray the cause.”
‘Oh right, the cause that you never bothered to tell me?’ Kiara silently scoffed and rolled her eyes as she thought of that ‘Even if I already do know of your cause through the stories about the game, it would still be better for you to tell me, right? Now I have to act like I don't already know you're planning on killing 99% of the whole population of humanity.’
But despite her thoughts, Kiara is curious, what kind of information does Grey Serpent have that would “force her to remain loyal to them”?
“We have planted a bomb to your heart.”

“What the fuck?” Kiara cursed outwardly
“Language young lady, you are still under a disguise, cursing would not do your reputation any good.”
‘I always curse in my mind, dumbass, but I rarely curse out loud, I thought you knew that already you damn conniving, scheming, mind reading bastard.’ Kiara scoffed but her mind was still reeling at the information that they have a goddamn bomb on her heart
“We implanted the bomb in case your mind falls to the clutches of the Honkai and go rogue.”
‘... Ah right… I forgot… I’m a Herrscher…’ Kiara thought to herself ‘Or well, a partially awakened Herrscher if I remember correctly, but a Herrscher nonetheless.’
This should not be a surprise considering the information available to her, but she still is surprised…
But Kiara’s curious, when did that happen? Was it when she was still recovering, meaning before her training? That would make sense
