AUTHOR'S POV
It was early in the morning when Tara woke up from her sleep. She looked around and her eyes fell on Rudra, who was sleeping at a good distance from her.
She didn't know what got into her, but she scooted closer to him. She blinked her eyes twice and saw the distance reduced. She scooted closer again, reducing the distance even more. After another move, she was just beside him. She blinked nervously, feeling a bit scared because if he woke up, he would scold her.
She waved her hand in front of his face to check if he was sleeping. The next moment, she felt herself pinned on the bed. Her wrist was in Rudra's hold, and he had turned her on her back. He was hovering over her, not putting his weight on her. Tara shrieked at the sudden action, all her sleep flying away. She blinked nervously.
"Tara, what are you doing?" asked Rudra in his morning voice. Their faces were very close, and their proximity was affecting Tara to the core.
"I... I... uhmm..." she cleared her throat.
Rudra was a light sleeper. After Yuvraj and Yashvi, he was quite alert to his surroundings even in sleep. When Tara shifted closer to him, his sleep was disturbed, but he didn't open his eyes. Then he held her wrist and pinned her down.
He was looking at her beautiful face. She had siren eyes, long eyelashes, chubby cheeks, and plump, big lips.
"Bolo?" asked Rudra, his eyes roaming all over her face. (Speak.)
"I was checking if you were awake," Tara whispered, licking her lips nervously.
"Why were you checking? You could have called me out," Rudra raised an eyebrow asking her. He knew she was getting nervous, and he was making her more nervous.
"I... I..." Tara stuttered, and at that moment, someone knocked on their door.
Rudra left her and went to check the door. Tara took a breath, calming her racing heart. Rudra came back with the twins, who were all dolled up for the day.
Rudra put them on his side, and they crawled to Tara, who had her eyes closed as she calmed herself.
"Mummaa..." the twins called. Tara opened her eyes at the sound of their voices.
"Haan, mera bacha," Tara said, her face adorned with a huge smile. Both the twins laid their heads on her stomach and chest.
(Yes, my child.)
Tara rubbed their heads and patted their backs.
"Do you want to sleep, bacha?" she asked. Both kids nodded quickly.
Tara looked at Rudra."Inhone khana khaya?"Tara asked. Rudra nodded.
(Did they eat food?)
"Baby, chalo, mumma ko uthne do," Tara said so she could lay them down properly. But both kids shook their heads no.
(Let mumma get up.)
"Rudra, help kariye na," Tara said, looking at Rudra.
(Rudra, help me.)
"Sambhalo apne bachhe khud hi. Meri toh kadar karte nahi hai ye ab," Rudra said with a shrug.
(Take care of your kids yourself. No one cares about me.)
"Aise mat kahiye aap... please na," Tara said with a pout. Rudra shook his head in disbelief.
(Don't say that, please.)
"Yuvraj, Yashvi, mumma ko achhe se laetne do," Rudra said. The kids quickly sat back. Tara sat on the bed and made them both lie down.
(Yuvraj, Yashvi, let mumma lay properly.)
