AUTHOR'S POV
It's been two months since their marriage, and things are going pretty well. Rudra and Tara have grown closer to each other, feeling a connection that goes beyond friendship. Every night, they sit down and talk, with Rudra massaging her feet while she talks about her day. They haven't shared any physical moments beyond that initial peck. They sleep together, but keep a respectful distance.
Both want each other, but they're taking things slow, not wanting to rush. Sunita, the caretaker, is a wonderful help. Tara is satisfied with her work and feels relieved to trust her with the twins.
Rudra had gone to his office. Sanya was at college. Ritesh, Sarla, and Tara were sitting in the hall talking, while the twins happily played with their toys.
"Tara, you should take lunch to Rudra. He's been eating less at the office these days. Make sure he eats properly," Sarla suggested.
"But Maa, how...?" Tara started, but Sarla interrupted her.
"Arey, just go to his office and say you want to meet him. You're his wife, Tara, no one will stop you. We'll take care of the twins. Don't worry about them," Sarla reassured her.
Though hesitant, Tara nodded. She went to her room to get ready. She wore her nuptial chain, applied vermilion and bindi, earrings, her wedding ring, and a ring on her right hand. She had removed her wedding bangles after consulting Sarla, as the twins sometimes scratched themselves on them. She left her long, waist-length straight hair open, the sage green saree perfectly hugging her curves.
Tara went downstairs.
"Oh my my, meri bachi, kitni sundar lag rahi hai!" Sarla exclaimed. She took some kohl from her eyes and put it behind Tara's ear. (Oh my my, my daughter is looking so pretty.)
"Maa, I am wearing the same clothes as earlier. Neither did I do any makeup," Tara said, smiling at Sarla.
"That's what I am saying, that my daughter is looking so beautiful even without any makeup," Sarla said. Tara shook her head at her mother-in-law's antics. Sarla had been like this in these two months. She was more like a friend to Tara.
The twins looked at Tara who was looking so pretty.
"Mumma, so pity," Yuvraj and Yashvi said dreamily. (Mumma is so pretty)
"Janna, it's pretty, not pity," Tara said laughing at the two. They pouted.
"Mumma will come back soon, hm?" Tara said softly, pecking their cheeks. They both were sad but still, they nodded.
"Mumma will bring chocolates for you, okay?" Tara said smiling.
The twins grinned with a smile. Tara bid bye to Ritesh, Sarla, and the twins.
Tara was sitting in the car, fidgeting with her fingers. She was feeling nervous.
In no time, she was in front of the building. She got out of the car and corrected her saree. She thanked the driver, took her purse, and started moving inside. There were two huge bodyguards standing outside. They looked at her without moving their faces, making her gulp.
She walked inside and looked around. There were people working and walking. She saw an escalator and went to it. She looked around nervously and saw a board indicating that the CEO's office was on the ninth floor. She kept changing some escalators and then sometimes stairs until she reached the 9th floor.
People working in the office glanced at her but didn't bother much.
Tara looked around the 9th floor. There were people working, and there was a stair to a cabin whose walls were mirrors. She concluded that it might be Rudra's cabin. She looked around to ask someone.
