Giyuu woke up to find the room unusually quiet. He blinked, realizing it was later than he typically rose.

The spot next to him in bed was empty, the sheets cool to the touch. He rubbed his eyes, sitting up and stretching, before stepping out of bed. As he moved through the hall, he encountered a Kakushi.

"Good morning," Giyuu greeted, his voice still groggy. "Do you know where Sanemi is?"

The Kakushi bowed slightly. "Good morning, Tomioka-sama. Shinazugawa-sama left early this morning and returned to his estate."

Giyuu raised an eyebrow in surprise but nodded in understanding. "Thank you" he said.

He continued down the hallway and made his way to Ren's room. Pushing the door open gently, he saw his son still sleeping soundly, his small form sprawled across the bed. Giyuu smiled softly at the sight.

The Kakushi followed him, bowing again. "Breakfast is ready whenever you and Ren are."

"Thank you" Giyuu replied, his tone warm. He walked up to Ren's bed and sat down on the edge, reaching out to gently shake his shoulder. "Ren, it's time to wake up for breakfast," he murmured softly.

Ren stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He looked up at Giyuu with a sleepy expression, yawning widely. "Good morning, Ma.." he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning, Ren" Giyuu said with a gentle smile. "Breakfast is ready. Let's go eat."

Ren nodded, still waking up. He slowly got out of bed, and Giyuu helped him straighten his clothes. They walked together to the dining area, where the table was already set with a variety of breakfast dishes. The Kakushi had prepared a hearty meal, and the smell of freshly baked bread, grilled fish, and steamed vegetables filled the air. There were also bowls of rice, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette), and pickled vegetables.

As they sat down to eat, Ren seemed to perk up, the sleepiness fading from his eyes. "Where's Pa?" he asked, looking around.

Giyuu gave him a reassuring smile. "He had to go back to his estate this morning. But don't worry, we'll see him again soon."

Ren nodded, accepting the explanation as he started to eat. Giyuu watched his son with a fond expression, feeling grateful for the small moments of peace they shared. Despite the lingering concerns from the previous night, he focused on the present, enjoying the calm morning with Ren.

They ate their breakfast together, the quiet of the house a comforting backdrop.

Giyuu found himself lost in thought, pondering the events of the past few days and the conversation he knew he needed to have with Sanemi. But for now, he pushed those thoughts aside, savoring the time with his son and the simple pleasure of a shared meal.

Ren eagerly reached for a piece of tamagoyaki, his favorite, and grinned up at Giyuu. "That was really good, Ma!"

Giyuu smiled back, feeling a warmth spread through him. "I'm glad you liked it, Ren. Let's finish up and then we can play outside for a bit."

Ren nodded enthusiastically, already looking forward to their time together. As they continued their meal.

Later in the day, Giyuu was in the kitchen, taking inventory of their supplies. He realized they were running low on several essentials. Turning his attention to Ren, who was playing nearby, Giyuu called out, "Ren, would you like to come with me to the market to buy some food?"
