"My first day" Florence says to Izzie and Cristina excitedly
"Huh?" Cristina questions
Florence beams at her "My clinical trial. My baby, all grown up"
"You know, nobody cares about your clinical trial or your sick, sick, terminal patients, who'd probably rather be left for dead" Izzie says bitterly
"You're just jealous" Florence frowns
"Well, yeah" the blonde replies
"Anyone can come up with a clinical trial. I could come up with a clinical trial" Cristina says confidently
"Jealous" Florence mutters
"Not that it would matter, ' cause Hahn wouldn't sign off on it. You know she won't even talk to me?" Cristina says
"She always enjoyed talking to me" Izzie tells her
"Really, about what?" Cristina asks curiously
"Her hopes, her dreams, then we would braid each other's hair" Izzie replies sarcastically
"Well, at least I'm not living in the clinic" Cristina fires back
"Hey, I like the clinic. The clinic is my happy place" Izzie says
"Will you use your sparkle pager to get me in on Hahn's surgery today?" Cristina asks Florence
"Oh, Cristina, I can't even think about the sparkle pager because my clinical trial starts today" Florence replies with a smile
"Sparkle pager stealer!" Izzie says
"Thank you. Okay, the both of you need to just take a moment and dig down deep, and you'll discover when you do you're truly happy for me that I have found my path to medical history" Florence says walking off
"I'm not happy for her" Cristina says to Izzie
"Oh, me neither" the blonde agrees

"His karnofsky score is still 80, and his C. B. C. And liver enzymes are good" Florence says to Derek
"Well, that's better than expected" Derek replies
"I know" Florence says eagerly
"Better doesn't mean good. I don't want you getting emotionally involved with these patients. I don't want you getting your hopes up" Derek tells his sister
"My hopes are not up" Florence replies
Derek nods "All right, then. Let's do this"
"Florence Shepherd" Addison beams "My gosh you have grown so much, come here, you" the redhead says inviting the younger woman for a hug
"Hi Addie" Florence replies embracing the woman "How's L. A.?" she asks the redhead
"Oh, it's great. It's fun. You know, it's the sun and, uh, surfing. It's ..."
