"Given the situation, I'd understand if you didn't want to proceed with surgery" Derek says to Beth
"But we did learn from Jeremy, and the formulation of the cocktail will be adjusted" Florence interjects 
Derek glares at her "We have not had a positive outcome" 
"Liz?" Beth's Dad questions is wife
Liz shakes her head "I want to take her home"
"I understand" Derek says softly
"No. I want the surgery" Beth opposes
"Honey. Honey, that's the grief talking" Liz says
"I want the surgery today" Beth replies
"Well, there are no other clinical trials out there. No one else has any answers. Dr. Shepherd has worked hard on this" Florence says
"Florence" Derek warns
"We're not letting you have surgery because you want to die with Jeremy" Beth's Dad says
"If I go home, I die. I die in a few weeks, a few days" Beth replies
"I don't want to lose you" Liz says
"Mom, you won't. Because I'm not finished" Beth tells her mom before turning to look at her dad "Daddy. He loved me. Yeah, you know, Jeremy really loved me. And he'd be so mad if ... if I just gave up. Please. Do the surgery today"
...
"We'll get it right with Beth" Florence says to her brother
"She lost the love of her life. You encourage her to surgery?" Derek questions his sister
"I was supposed to encourage her not to?" Florence asks
"It's not me with the big ego, it's you" Derek snaps 
"No, it's definitely you" Florence replies  
"You backed me into a corner!" Derek yells
"What was I supposed to do?" Florence asks
"I can't" Derek shakes his head
"Derek"
"She's a kid" Derek says
"Who's gonna die without surgery" Florence reminds him
"She'll die with surgery. What you and I do. We kill things over and over and over again. We've killed 12 people, and now, because of you, I will kill a 13th. Surgery's over, we're done. I don't wanna work with you, see you, talk to you" Derek says harshly before waking away

Florence is sat in the basement staring aimlessly at the wall when someone sits down next to her
 "Why the face Shep?" Izzie questions 
Florence rolls her eyes in annoyance "Izzie, go away"
