Chapter 2 - Peaceful Days

It's the end of the first period.

Turns out, the school subject is not that hard. I can still follow the teacher's writing on the board and write the note as fast as the teacher clean the board right after they write it. I thank my intelligence work experience on that one.

But I still don't know much about the school, so I might as well use this free period to familiarize myself with the academy.

But it seems that the others keep glaring at me with such intensity, I saw one of them sharpening their pencil as if they're going to stab me. Well, if they can.

"Hey, Raiden-san. Why are they staring at me with so much hatred?" I ask Raiden Mei who sit beside me.

"Ah, Franks-san, it's probably because of my status." Said Mei with a soft voice, almost like she is apologizing for something.

"Status?" Wait is Mei's status really that high?

"Ah, you probably don't know this because you're an overseas student. I am the daughter of the CEO of ME Corp. My Father, Raiden Ryoma is the CEO of the Corporation."

ME Corp!? The one and only ME Corp!?

"Ah, pardon if my words sound rude."

To think that I spoke like that on the daughter of the CEO of one of the most important company in the world.

"No, no. It's okay, you don't need to be so polite with me. I'm more than happy if you talk to me like we're a friend."

"Anyway, Franks-san, if you wanted too, I can give you a tour about this school."

I pondered about that for a second, but it seems that the other will kill me if I accept this offer. Well, if they can do it.

"Alright, thanks for the offer."

"Great, shall we go now?"

And so, we go around the school. I've never went to a school before, so this is my first time. The building itself is big.

When we were still walking through each room, I became quite curious. Since there's no one that's walking here beside us, I can ask that question.

"So, this is the Science Lab, and this is the M-"

"Hey, Raiden-san? Don't you feel annoyed?"

Raiden Mei stop on her track. Her face turned into a confused look.

"Eh? Franks-san, what's with the sudden question?" Respond Mei.

"Ah, Sorry. I was just curious. Have you ever felt that the other praises on you felt too much?"

I'm quite curious about Raiden Mei's feelings. She's the heiress and everyone knows that she's an important person. How would she who's the center of attention feel about this.

"Haven't you felt that those people were just trying to take advantage of you?"

There's silence for a few seconds.

"I know that they're just trying to take advantage of me. I've always knew that." Raiden Mei says.

"Ever since I was a child, people around me would always pamper me. I'm always showered with praises because I'm the daughter of the president of ME Corp. I keep studying and perfecting myself harder and harder each time, trying to go along their expectation."

Raiden Mei then clench her hands.

"But it's okay." Said Raiden Mei with a smile.
