I was now in the kitchen in front of the chefs who were preparing food for the house. I stood there terrified and one of the chefs came to me a smile on his face as he lead me into the kitchen and to a special spot near a corner where he placed a plate of food.
"I am Chef Charlie, the head chef. The female is Chef Lei and she and Chef Sean are my sous chefs." Chef Charlie said, "Please, sit here and eat"
I nodded sitting down. As I ate I watched as the three I was introduced to began to cook and two more chefs came in preparing themselves to cook as well. The kitchen was filled with many different smells and made me hungrier. I took a few bites before barking sounded through the dining room and into the kitchen. Fear overcame me yet again and I fell to the ground and started crawling around.

"What are you doing?" Chef Sean asked.
"Did you upset him?" Chef Lei asked.
I nodded, "It was an accident. I got lost and then I got distracted and I was in a room I wasn't supposed to be in.."
"Quick" Chef Charlie said leading me to a hidden door in the kitchen, "Take this passageway to the end. You'll come out in the dining hall but you'll be able to hide from there. There is a pool house in the back of the house where you can hide if you need to."
"Here," Chef Lei said as Chef Charlie pushed me into the hidden passageway, suddenly she put a container in my hand, "I put your food in here so you won't be hungry"
"Thank you." I said with a small smile and went through the passage way to the end where it lead to the dining hall. I peeked through the passage door to see Andreas storming into the kitchen Rex barking after him. "Psst" I whispered and Rex looked over running toward me. I opened the door and let Rex through the door before closing it a bit. "Good boy.." I whispered.
"Where is she?" Andreas yelled.
"Your Highness, we don't know who you're talking about." Chef Charlie spoke.
"Amaya. The one I told you was moving in today. Where is she?" Andreas shouted.
"Your Highness, I apologize but we haven't met her yet. We've been busy preparing the welcoming dinner for young Amaya." Chef Charlie said.
"UGH!" Andreas growled, "Find her now!" He shouted. I'm guessing he was on the phone.
I motioned for Rex to follow me and lead the way through the corridor. I walked through many tight winding hallways in the dark. Rex was right behind me until I came to another door and opened it to see that it lead to the same room I just ran from. I frowned and stared at the room in disbelief.
"I want her found!" Andreas shouted coming back into the room. I quickly closed the door and sat down. Rex laid on my lap as I sat and ate the food packed by the chefs.
"Sir, if you're angry like this around her, you might scare her." Zhi's voice sounded through the room.
"I don't care. She wasn't allowed to come in here and she did!" Andreas snapped.
"Is it because you didn't want her to find out that you are the king here?" Zhi asked.
"Not just that!" Andreas shouted.
"Boss, why not just call her phone?" Zhi asked.
"You should, I'm too angry right now.." Andreas said
"Yes, sir." Zhi said.
"Oh no..." I whispered digging my phone out from my pocket to turn it on silent, but it started ringing before I could turn it off. "Crap.." I grumbled trying to turn it off.
Suddenly the door opened inward and there was Zhi and Andreas staring at me. Rex stayed laying on top of my legs and growled at them. The food next to me on the floor I grabbed the scruff of Rex protectively and gripped it firmly in fear. Rex barked a warning at the two before returning to growling.
"Okay, Rex. Calm down." Zhi said backing him and Andreas away.
Andreas took a seat on the chair thing I saw earlier and leaned against the back heaving a heavy sigh. Zhi stood next to him and looked in our direction.
"See, Rex. It's okay. We'll stay over here as long as you both stay over there." Zhi said in a calm voice.
Rex's growling stopped and he laid his head on his paws that were on my lap. I released the scruff of his neck and rubbed it as an apology for grabbing it. It was silent for a long time so I began poking the grapes in the container I got from the kitchen.
"The chefs said they didn't see you. How'd you get the food?" Andreas bit out.
"I grabbed some when it was empty.." I whispered, my voice trembling.
Zhi pulled out his phone, "Call off the search, we found her. Send the triplets into the throne room." then he hung up the phone and placed it back in his pocket.
"Boss, can you please try to calm down before talking to her. She's been through a lot and looks terrified right now." Mikey said as he and the other turtle brothers walked into the room.
"Why Zhi asked you three to come is beyond me" Andreas growled. "Well, might as well work, now that the cats out of the bag..."
"You mean dog, right?" Donnie asked.
"Shut up, boss is angry" Leo said.
"Boss, when are you going to tell everyone that you're the King?" Zhi asked
"The second I find a wife.. And apparently graduate from college" Andreas said, "I never did want to be seen as the king. Not after my father."
"Just because you can be a scary jerk doesn't mean you're a bad person. From the rumors I've heard and what I've experienced with you, you're a better person than him." I said in a low voice.
Suddenly it went dead quiet as all heads, including Rex's, turned toward me. It took a long time before someone spoke, and I was more surprised at the person who spoke than anything.
"Why would you say that?" Andreas asked.
"She totally did not just call him a scary jerk.." Mikey whispered.
"She totally did," Leo replied
"Even Rex gave her a crazy look," Donnie inputed.
"Be quiet you three. You're here for back up security in case we need help with her" Zhi snapped.
"I'm not going to run away. If I was going to I'd have done it by now.." I shot back.
"You still haven't answered my question." Andreas broke through the commotion, "Why would you say that?"
"Everyone who was in my position knows the kind of person your father was, even if we didn't exactly know him. He had a big part in what we have lived in the hands of people like Red and worse." I began as I pet Rex to help me stay calm, "You're not like that. You saved me from whatever fate awaited me when Red called your guards to get rid of me. You personally saw to it that I was safe, continue to personally see to it that I stay safe, enrolled me into school and even allowed Rex to stay with me." I paused for a moment noticing that Andreas' eyes were trained on me, "You even joined school to ensure my safety and threw the turtle triplets into the mix when a threat came my way. Then for my safety you moved me into your home. If anything, my status is nothing more than a servant, though you treat me as if I'm a person worth more."
"Hmm.." Andreas said as if he was thinking heavily on what I said, "Then explain why you came into this room. Especially after I told you not to." This time his voice was calmer.
"I-I got lost. My directions got mixed up in my head when I went to go to the kitchen" I mumbled. "It was an accident... When I came in I got distracted by the paintings and ended up staying instead of leaving.."
