Jungkook drove carefully through the rain-soaked streets, the windshield wipers working overtime. The drive was short, but the rain made it feel longer. They finally arrived at Jungkook's apartment building, a warm, welcoming sight against the stormy backdrop.
"Come on, let's get inside," Jungkook said, grabbing an umbrella from the backseat. He opened it and held it over Saanvi as they hurried to the entrance.
Inside, the warmth of the apartment was a relief. "You can use the bathroom to change. I'll get you some dry clothes," Jungkook said, leading her to his room. He handed her a pair of his sweatpants and a hoodie. "These might be a bit big, but they'll keep you warm."
"Thank you, Jungkook," Saanvi said, her teeth chattering slightly. She went into the bathroom to change while Jungkook quickly changed into dry clothes in his room.
When Saanvi came out, she looked cosy in Jungkook's oversized clothes, her hair still damp but her face much warmer. "Feeling better?" Jungkook asked, a concerned look on his face.
"Much better, thank you," Saanvi replied with a grateful smile. They settled on the couch, and Jungkook made some hot chocolate to help warm them up further.
Jungkook brought a soft, warm blanket for Saanvi, carefully draping it around her shoulders. Concern etched his face as he asked, "Do you want me to cook something? Are you feeling hungry?"
Saanvi nodded weakly, grateful for the comforting warmth of the blanket. "Yes, let's make something," she replied softly.
"Stay here by the heater, it'll help you feel better. I'll whip up some noodles," Jungkook suggested, his voice gentle yet determined. With that, he hurried off to the kitchen.
In the cosy kitchen, the aroma of cooking noodles filled the air as Jungkook busied himself with the preparation.
A short while later, carrying a steaming bowl of noodles, Jungkook returned to find Saanvi curled up on the couch. The blanket enveloped her, but she was shivering despite its warmth, her arms tightly wrapped around herself.
"Saanvi... Saanvi, are you okay?" Jungkook's voice was filled with concern as he gently placed the bowl on the nearby table and knelt beside her. He reached out to touch her forehead, feeling the heat radiating from her skin.
Saanvi was feverish and fell asleep. Jungkook, worried about her condition, gently lifted her into his arms in a bridal carry and carefully laid her on the bed. He covered her with the blanket before checking her temperature with a thermometer. It confirmed her fever was high.
Acting swiftly, he fetched a bowl filled with ice water and a soft towel. He dipped the towel into the cold water, wringing out excess moisture before gently wiping Saanvi's face and limbs. Then, he soaked the towel again and placed it coolly on her forehead.
Jungkook hovered anxiously by her side, his heart heavy with concern as he monitored Saanvi's response to the cooling treatment.
For half an hour, Jungkook diligently administered the cooling treatment, but Saanvi's fever showed no signs of abating. Concern deepened in his eyes as he fetched fever medication from the medicine box. Gently lifting Saanvi, who was unresponsive and barely conscious due to the fever, he supported her as best as he could, ensuring she swallowed the medicine with water.
After confirming Saanvi had managed to swallow the medicine, Jungkook laid her back down and resumed the cooling treatment. Two hours later, Jungkook's eyes fluttered open. He found himself sitting beside the bed, having dozed off with his head resting on the table. Checking on Saanvi, he gently touched her forehead and felt it was now at a normal temperature. To be certain, he used the thermometer again, confirming that her fever had completely subsided and her body temperature was back to normal.
