3 years later-
"Tae, please at least give me a chance to explain," Y/N said, her eyes brimming with tears, her voice trembling with desperation.
"What is there left to explain?" Taehyung shouted, his frustration boiling over, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
"Tae, speak softly, please. You'll wake Lia. She just fell asleep," Y/N pleaded, glancing nervously toward the room where their daughter, Kim Lia, lay peacefully.
Lia, their four-month-old daughter, was their joy, their reason for everything. Even the mention of her name made Taehyung's eyes soften for a moment, but his anger quickly resurfaced.
"I don't want to argue with you anymore. Do whatever you want. It's not like you ever listen to anyone else anyway," Taehyung spat out, his voice seething with anger. He paced back and forth, his movements sharp and erratic.
Tears streamed down Y/N's cheeks, a lump forming in her throat as her chest tightened with emotion. She felt her heart breaking with each harsh word that left Taehyung's mouth.
"You not even considering how I might feel," Taehyung continued, hurt evident in his voice. He was too blinded by his own anger to notice Y/N's tears, too consumed by his own pain to see hers.
"Tae, it's not like that. I want to..." Y/N began, stepping closer, her hands reaching out to him, but Taehyung raised his hand, cutting her off. The gesture was final, a wall between them.
"I don't want to hear anything. Just leave me alone," he said, his voice breaking slightly before he turned away and stormed out, slamming the door behind him with a resounding crash that echoed through the silent house.
Y/N stood frozen for a moment, the silence in the room deafening after the intensity of their argument. "Tae, I never wanted to hurt you. But you could at least listen to me," she whispered to herself, her voice breaking as she sank to the floor. Her sobs were quiet. She wrapped her arms around herself, trying to hold together the pieces of her shattered heart.
Just then, the piercing cry of Lia filled the house, slicing through the heavy silence. Y/N's quickly wiped away her tears, her emotions still raw. She stood up, taking a deep breath to steady herself, and made her way to the room.
Inside the softly lit room, Y/N picked up Lia, her tiny body warm and comforting against Y/N's chest. As she cradled her daughter, Lia's cries subsided, replaced by soft, contented coos. The baby's small hands reached up, grasping at Y/N's hair and playfully tugging at the strands. Each gentle touch seemed to calm Y/N's frayed nerves.
Looking down at Lia's cherubic face, Y/N felt a wave of relief wash over her. Lia's innocent, toothless smile was a balm to Y/N's wounded heart, each giggle a reminder of the love they shared as a family. The sight of her daughter, so trusting and pure, made Y/N's pain feel just a little more bearable, melting some of the harsh edges of her heartache.
Meanwhile, outside, Taehyung was still seething as he stormed out of the house, his footsteps echoing with his frustration. He slammed the front door behind him and got into his car, gripping the steering wheel tightly. The engine roared to life, and he drove away, his mind racing with thoughts and unresolved anger.
He meandered through the streets, the cool night air doing little to cool his heated emotions. After some time, the adrenaline began to fade, and his mind slowly started to clear. He decided to head to Jungkook's place, hoping his friend could offer some clarity or at least a distraction from his spiralling thoughts.
Taehyung impatiently rang the doorbell, his finger pressing the button three times in rapid succession. Just as he was about to ring it again, Jungkook opened the door, his face showing a mix of frustration and exhaustion.
