Chapter Nine

"Ugh." I stretched my arms over my head before opening my eyes. I looked around the living room and noticed that I was the only one here. I looked around more as I sat up, then grabbed my phone to check the time.

Then I noticed my phone was dead since I didn't charge it last night. I rubbed my eyes before getting up the stretching again as I walked out of the living room. I walked upstairs to my room to charge my phone.

After I placed it on charge, I went to the bathroom down the hall. I rinsed my face off then looked at myself in the mirror, which I noticed my hickeys on my neck, and I sighed before brushing my teeth.

Once I walked back into my room, I turned my phone on before looking at my messages and saw where Danny had messaged me earlier this morning. I read where he said he would be working somewhere today, and I texted him back to ask where.

As I got dressed, I heard my phone go off again, and I picked it up to see a message from Danny. I sat on my bed as I read the message, then tossed my phone on the bed afterwards.

"Great." I sighed. Since Danny will be working today, I didn't have shit to do. I got up then walked out of my room, and downstairs before hearing the front door close.

When I stopped and looked towards the front door, I saw Ember walk in. She stopped and smiled at me, which made me nod at her. "Good morning."

"Morning."

"What are your plans for today?" She asks.

"Not sure. I was going to hang out with Danny today, but he's busy." I said and saw Ember nod.

"You want to join us today?"

"Who?"

"Noah and I."

"Where?"

"I have some errands to run." She smiled. "You're more than welcomed to join us."

As I stood there, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go anywhere. I saw Ember watching me, waiting for me to answer her. I looked around before sighing, then I nodded at her. "Sure." I saw her smile, then I went back upstairs to change into something else.

When I walked into my room, I looked over at my phone as it was laying on the bed. I sighed before standing in front of my mirror, then looked myself over. I took my shirt off, then went through my drawer before finding a shirt. I looked myself over as I had shorts on with a regular shirt, which felt weird since I usually only wear crop tops.

After I slid my shoes on, I looked back over at my phone before unplugging it from the charger then I walked out of my room. I walked downstairs where Ember was walking to the door, then she smiled at me as she held the door open for me.

When I walked to her car, I saw Noah in the passenger seat. I opened the door, and he looked over at me before sticking his tongue out. I pointed to the backseat, and he gave me a confused look.

"You're coming? Great." He groans before climbing in the back seat. I shook my head as I got in, then closed the door. I placed my phone in the middle cup holder, then waited until Ember got in.

Once we left, I looked out the window as I pulled my legs up in the seat. I stared at the trees as they went by, then felt someone touch my leg. I look over to see Ember looking at me, then she motioned towards her seatbelt.

"Sorry." I pulled mine on, then grabbed my phone. "Do you have a charger?" I ask Ember. She grabs one that was plugged into the stereo, then I plugged my phone up before tossing it back in the cup holder.

"Anything wrong?" Ember asks.

"No."

"You sure?"

"Yep." I wrapped my arms around my legs as I looked out the window.
