Hanni had called Minji the night before, after coming home to the crazy news that she was going to be getting married to some random person that she didn't know. She couldn't help but cry to Minji even though she barely knew her, but she was really the only person she could talk to. Minji couldn't believe what she was hearing either. The thought of getting an arranged marriage made Minji's heart drop. It made her sad that someone she knew was actually going through it.
Hanni's mom had ended up coming in to her room to talk to her about the whole situation while her and Minji were on the phone. She ended up telling her that she was going to meet him this Friday, and exactly why they had set up an arranged marriage for him. Also, it turns out the boy she was eventually set up to marry went to the same school as her. Hanni didn't say much as her mom spoke about her 'future husband', she just sat there with a blank stare the whole time. She did make sure to listen to every detail she could. Apparently, this boy was an only son to the two people who were sitting in their living room when she came home last night. The boy's father was the CEO of a traveling agency, and he would like for his son to continue the business. Ever since that was brought up to him, he's been in a mood, more now than he's ever been. Hanni still didn't see why she needed to be the one to change him. If he didn't want to continue the business, then that was his choice. Hanni realized that his parents were the exact same as hers.
Controlling.
As Hanni entered the school entrance, her mood changed. Not only was she not comfortable being at her own home anymore, she was definitely not comfortable being at school either due to her locker neighbor being an angry, moody teenager. In all of her sixteen years of life, she had never met someone as blunt and straightforward as Jay. She didn't want to be at both places, but in reality, those were the only places she could go to in this city.
Minji stood at her locker with a boy who was about a few inches taller then she was. Hanni had approached the two, after grabbing everything she needed for each class from her locker. She had made sure she didn't have to go back between passing periods just so she wouldn't run into Jay.
"Oh, hey!" Minji smiled as Hanni grew closer. The boy Minji was talking to smiled at her as well. "Jungwon, this is Hanni. Hanni, Jungwon."
"Hi, nice to meet you!" Jungwon bowed towards Hanni, still smiling.
"Sorry, was I interrupting your guy's conversation?"
"No, we were just talking about Jay. Jungwon and Jake weren't able to find him yesterday."
"Yeah, I texted him asking where he was at, and all he said was 'at school'..." Jungwon crossed his arms, "Like I don't already know that."
Minji giggled as Jungwon rolled his eyes.
"I saw him three times yesterday, unfortunately."
"Three times?!" Jungwon was shocked. The last time Jungwon and Jake saw Jay was last week on Friday morning.
"We can trade lockers that way you can talk to him?" Hanni laughed, noticing that Jungwon's locker was right next to Minji's. "Because I really don't want to come across him ever again..."
"Why? What happened?" Minji raised a brow. Jungwon did the same.
"Yesterday after school, he pretty much said I don't belong in Mrs. Choi's advanced music class because I'm too scared." Hanni shuffled her feet, feeling down as she remembered what Jay had told her.
"He said that??" The two of them said in unison.
"Man, Jay's really been in a mood lately. He's never been this way before. He's a nice guy... sometimes. I promise." Jungwon tried his best to talk about his friend in a good light, but he knew how Jay was when it came to music. Hanni wasn't buying it.
