Jungwon stood at his locker that Thursday morning, while Minji told him how her day went yesterday. He was trying to finish the rest of his homework for first period, and he couldn't concentrate due to Minji going on and on about how terrible her day was.
"I felt like I was going to die." Minji told him. "I hadn't felt that sick in forever, and I was just so miserable yesterday. Like, have you ever felt so ill that you think you won't make it?"
"Yep." He responded, his eyes on his homework.
"I almost went to the hospital because of how bad I felt. It was crazy."
"Uh huh."
"Are you even listening to me?" Minji glared at him, noticing that his attention was on the notebook he was holding.
He smiled sheepishly at her, shaking his head no.
"I forgot to do my history homework, so I'm trying to do it right now, okay?" Jungwon sighed, continuing to write on his homework again.
"Fine." Minji pouted her lips. "Oh, Jake!"
Jake waved at Minji and made his way towards the two of them. Minji knew that Jake would listen to how her day went while she was sick in bed.
"What's up, guys?" Jake said with a grin on his face. "I heard you got sick yesterday."
"Oh, let me tell you all about it..." Minji said with a smile plastered on her face.
Minji was about to unravel everything onto Jake when Park Sunghoon appeared out of nowhere. His eyes wandered around, and they all knew exactly why he was there.
"Have you guys seen Hanni?" Sunghoon said in a low tone, almost as if he were embarrassed to be asking them.
All three of them looked at him with narrow eyes. It was odd for him to come talk to them especially since they weren't fond of each other. Specifically with Jake and Jungwon. Jay had told Jake and Jungwon about what happened when he had gone to drop their forms off at the café. All three of them were supposed to go drop them off together but Jay insisted he could do it on his own, and now the two of them were upset that they weren't able to back up their friend that night.
"I think she's with Jay?" Jake blurted out.
"Yeah, I saw her walking with Jay not too long ago." Jungwon added, fueling the lie.
"Hanni said they were going to get breakfast together in the cafeteria, from what I remember." Minji began to snicker, trying her best to hold in her giggles.
They could see Sunghoon's face and ears turning red as they talked about Hanni and Jay being together, even though they actually weren't. It gave them a warm fuzzy feeling inside watching Sunghoon squirm as he pictured a non-existent scenario that they were feeding to him.
Sunghoon balled his hands into fists and furrowed his bushy brows before storming off towards where he came from.
"That was hilarious!" Minji said as all three of them burst out laughing.
"Bro, he was so mad!" Jake said.
"He's really jealous of Jay being with Hanni!" Jungwon chuckled, "I mean, it's not like he has a chance since they're having an arranged marriage."
Minji and Jake both turned to look at Jungwon, whose eyes became wide as he realized what he had just said. Jungwon quickly covered his mouth. Jake and Jungwon both knew about the arranged marriage, but they weren't sure if Minji knew about it or if they just revealed one of Jay's deepest secrets.
"Uh..." Jungwon's voice shook.
"Did you just say what I think you said?" Minji pointed at him.
"Uh... that's not what I meant. What I meant to say was-"
