Chapter 27| Stargazing.Stacey.
"Here you go, " I said, placing the plate filled with fruits on the dinning table."Thanks Mom, " Edna smiled, adjusting the other plates, it was a Saturday and I wanted to spend some alone time with her and Mia.
"You have our time today, what's the occasion girlie, " Mia queried, eyes squinted, I could see Edna nodding where she sat.
Shaking my head, I headed back into the kitchen to pick the rest of the plates, "well done Molly, " I stated.
"Oh, thanks, " she replied, smiling.
I nodded and returned to the living room, seating down, I said. "let's eat, "
"Prayer first, " said Mia.
"Okay, will you do us the favor then? "
"Sure, "
She prayed and we digged in, eating like a starved monster, well I did, Molly soon joined us, chiding us for neglecting our table manners.
"Who wants to go on a vacation? " I asked, all of a sudden.
"Really? "
"Yep, let's go camping tommorow, "
"Camping? "
"Yep, after church of course, " I added.
"Sure, what do you say Ed! "
"Let's go camping, I miss you guys a lot, "
"Well, it's settled then, we are going camping, " I chirped, excited to no end.
We spent the rest of dinner chatting and speaking about our times apart, I had missed that so much, spending time with my family like I used to.
. . .
" Did you pack the comforters? " I asked, placing the tent in my hand on the grass covered ground. We had arrived at the camping site, we went to a nature reserve a few miles downtown.
"Yep, I did, did you bring the torches Ed? "
"Yes, they are in the boot, " Ed replied, alighting from the car white hair packed in a ponytail bounced behind her as she ran over to Mia and helped her unload the other things we brought. We were wearing the same baggy sweater, in case the weather got colder than normal, which was expected.
We then began building the tent, we had a few arguments on how it should stand which caused more than one failed attempts. Which we laughed about, then we checked the instructions again till we were able to build a perfect tent.
"Good job guys, " I commended, dusting my hands on my demin trouser, with my hand on my waist, I admired the beautiful tent we had managed to build, it was beautiful, large enough for us and the night lights around it.
