**Gaeul's POV**

I staggered into the office early today. Because of last Friday with the Internship party, I had to put off some of my work so that I could attend. It messed with the schedule I had crafted in my mind but I was required to be there nevertheless, so it was an error on my part that I didn't account for that when drawing up my schedule. To be fair though, usually I don't even have to go since no intern survives Management but Leeseo is simply a different beast.

I arrived to the office the earliest as usual and sat in my chair with my feet kicked up waiting for everyone else to come. One by one, my coworkers arrived: Chaehyun, Hao, Hanbin, Taerae, Ricky, Hikaru, etc., yet I strangely found myself continuously flicking my head when I heard the doors swinging open.

An ice cold water bottle was shoved against my cheek, "Waiting for someone~?"

I seized the bottle, "Zip it."

"My my, if I weren't such a total GENIUS, I would ask why you keep staring at the door, however~ I already know the answer to that question. You're missing your beloved intern aren't you? It's the first day without her and you're practically bawling inside. Womp. Womp."

"Quiet down, you. You're messing with my head, making me think of strange stuff." Chaehyun had on the derpiest expression I've ever seen in a human. "AND STOP ACTING ALL SMUG!"

"Maybe... just maybe-- and stick with me here, MAYBE it's not me who's annoying you, MAYBE it's that image of Leeseo that's flooding your brain, sticking in there all the time like a virus, infecting your headspace. All those times you've lectured her on business work, her smile, those times you look over and watch her eat her snacks-- you're not very secretive about that by the way, anyways, the way she-"

"OKAY YOU CAN STOP NOW! Get back to your department; don't you have work to do or something?" I said trying to shift the conversation away from myself and thinking about Leeseo. WHICH IS JUST BECAUSE SHE'S GONE FROM MY DAILY ROUTINE! THAT'S ALL! NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT!

"Yeah alright. I'll leave you alone...for now. But...think about what I said."

"Yeah I know...you've only pestered me for the entire weekend about it," I said rolling my eyes in response.

"Sorry, I just want you to be happy. Even if it means... you having to break out your comfort zone."

"I know you mean well, but whatever you think is going on is just a change in routine and me adjusting to it. Nothing less. Nothing more," I assured her.

"Then I guess I'll leave you with one last tidbit: maybe this isn't something you can use your genius brain for. It's all in the heart," she signed off without looking back.

God damn that woman is inspirational.

I just inputted the final words of my project. I sighed and leaned back in my chair. "I finally finished this damn thing," I thought.

I grabbed my bag on the floor, "Alright Lees-"

I stared at the empty chair that once housed that petite girl I would see every day. I shook off that mistake, "Must've just been muscle memory." My mind snapped back to reality: I needed to locate Chaehyun so we can go home now-- it's getting late. I found her in the parking garage waiting by, blasting music through the AUX. She was drumming along to the song, tapping her fingers on the steering wheel.

"Dude what took so long? Were you waiting for Leeseo like usual~?" Chaehyun teased.

"Had to use the restroom," I lied.
