“Buck I'm fine relax” I repeated for the hundredth time.
“No It's not, doll. I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to hurt you.” he kept apologising.
“I know. You were trying to help. This was just an accident. Accidents happen.” I tried to comfort him but it didn't do much.
“You aren't mad?” he asked, surprising me.
“Of course not. I was gonna get hurt worse if you hadn't pulled me aside. A dislocated shoulder is nothing compared to that.” I explained.
He sighed again.
“I should have been more careful. I just got so scared that they were gonna take you away from me. I didn't think anything after that. I'm sorry.” he said softly.
“Baby it's okay. It is.” I put my non-injured hand on his shoulder.
“I swear I didn't mean to hurt you. You know that, right?” he asked again.
“Of course I do. I know that you’d never hurt me.” I replied sincerely.
Our conversation was interrupted by the doctor entering the emergency room again.
“Hey. Y/n you are set to go. Just take it easy for a couple of days and your shoulder will be alright.” she said.
“Thanks doc.” I answered.
I tried to get off the bed but I was too slow.
Bucky had already lifted me in his arms and left the emergency room.
“Buck put me down. Baby I can walk, my shoulder’s hurt, not my legs.” I said.
“Doc told you to take it easy. So you will. I won't let you lift a finger until you are okay.” he answered in a no nonsense tone.
“Buck-” I tried to argue but he cut me off.
“No. Don't say anything. I caused this so I will do anything that I can do to make it better.” he said.
I knew he was feeling guilty about hurting me and anything that I say right now wouldn’t mean anything so I caved in.
“Okay.”
“Good girl.”
He kissed the top of my head and took me to our shared room.
He kept his word.
Bucky didn't let me lift a finger anytime he was around which was all the time.
He took care of me better than I ever could.
