JANNAT'S P.O.V

"WHO DO YOU THINK you are, comparing yourself to me?" I drawled lazily, my eyes glazing over the girl in the diner, who was, at this point, just shaming herself further by putting herself on the same pedestal I was on.

"Excuse me?" She scoffed, eyeing me over. "You spoiled rich little bitches from the city think you can do anything with your daddy's money?"

My mouth twitched. "I am not even in the wrong here, though. You were the one cutting in the line, bitch."

She gasped. "What did you call me?"

"A bitch," I enunciated clearly and slowly. "Who just had the audacity to insult me by calling me a spoiled rich little bitch from the city."

That snotty girl with the burnt-at-the-edges blonde hair scoffed and looked sideways at, who I assumed, was her boyfriend. The six-foot-tall man walked up to his girlfriend and stared down at me. "I'd think twice before saying shit like that to my girlfriend," The man murmured and walked two steps towards me, clearly trying to intimidate me. Ooh, so scary. Shiver me timbers.

Rolling my eyes at him, I looked to my side. "Ooh, what a scary sight."

"Alright, alright, I guess I will be a little violent. It's only a broken leg," Lucas butted in, walking briskly towards me, his crutch in his hand - but even with a broken leg, his wasnt really limping. He came up and stood beside me, and Sinclair slithered up with him as well. Lucas, even with his injury, towered over the man, and not to mention his muscular frame was enough to swallow the man whole. Sinclair's presence calmed me exponentially, and I didn't seem to be wanting to kill the couple in cold blood in the middle of the diner anymore. Neil blew a long whistle as he walked in tow, "I have a big wrench in my backpack," He voiced his thoughts out loud, "And I am not afraid to use it for non-mechanic purposes, just so you know."

"What were you saying again, mister?" I smiled sweetly at her boyfriend. "Don't forget that we, as your girlfriend has already suggested, are spoiled rich little kids from the city with powerful parents. We tend to get away with many things."

Sinclair shrugged beside me, snaking a protective arm over my shoulder. "If I were you, I'd keep that in mind, mate."

"What's taking you guys so long?" Adri's voice floated over the small diner as the door closed loudly behind her, and Este also entered the small area. "If I wanted to wait half an hour for my food, I'd have gone to a damn Michelin-star restaurant! I want some fast, greasy diner food and if I don't get it in the next ten minu-" Her words skidded to a step as she took in the three of us in the weird, unbalanced stand-off against the Karen and her boyfriend. "Wait, what's happening?" It took Adri and Este exactly a minute to gauge the situation before they lined up beside us. Adri had her phone in hand, "Should I call daddy and request for back up?" She looked up straight at the man in front of us, who was trying his hardest to stay an imposing figure. "I don't often take advantage of the intimidation that my privileged position allows me, but I believe this is one of those times. After all, Lucas, our main fighter is injured."

Lucas looked back at Adri, crooning in a voice filled with warmth. "Aw, I am the main fighter?"

"So..." I said, a satisfied smile curling up at my lips. I loved having power. "Do you still wanna cut in the line and call me a dark-skinned freak behind my back when I reprimand you for cutting in the line?"

"She called you what?" Sinclair gasped, heart on his hand. "Give me the sign, and I will sock this woman in the jaw too. I don't discriminate between men and women-"

"How dare you say that to my girl-" The boyfriend pushed Sinclair's shoulder hard and I instantly caught him, steadying him. I was about to tear this guy a new one, but there was someone who beat me to it. Lucas, now personally offended, took two steps forward and nudged the guy's shoulder so hard that he almost toppled off-balance. "Your girlfriend makes racist comments about my friend and that's okay? Just when he talks about violence, you're pushing him, so should she also push your girlfriend around like that because she was being a racist bitch?"
