The days continued to blend into each other as Kiran and Nia navigated their relationship. Their connection grew stronger, despite the physical distance and the challenges posed by the pandemic. One evening, as they were texting, Kiran sent Nia a message that seemed off.
Kiran: "Nia, there's something important I need to tell you."
Nia: "What is it, Kiran? Is everything okay?"
Kiran: "It's about my future. I got accepted into a college in Pune, India."
Nia was stunned. This was the twist she never expected. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, unsure of what to say.
Nia: "Wait, you're moving to Pune? When? How did this happen?"
Kiran: "I got the acceptance letter this morning. They want me to start next semester. It's all so sudden."
Nia's emotions were a whirlwind. On one hand, she was thrilled at the prospect of Kiran being closer. On the other hand, she knew it would bring new challenges.
Nia: "Kiran, this is huge. I don't know what to say. How do you feel about it?"
Kiran: "I'm excited, but also nervous. It's a big change, and I know it will affect us. But I couldn't stop thinking about how this could be a chance for us to finally meet."
Nia felt a mixture of hope and apprehension. She wanted to be with Kiran more than anything, but she also worried about the reality of such a big change.
Nia: "Kiran, this is so unexpected. But maybe it's a sign. Maybe this is our chance to see where our relationship can go."
Kiran: "I think so too, Nia. But I don't want to pressure you. This is a lot to take in, and I want us to make the best decision for both of us."
They spent the rest of the night discussing the implications of the move. Kiran shared his excitement about college and the possibilities it brought, while Nia voiced her concerns and hopes.
The distance between them felt like it will be smaller in time, but the reality of their situation brought new challenges and uncertainties. So close yet so far.
