Chapter 27

"Aiara! It's good to see you again. When I heard you move to Seattle I was shocked. And you have a baby. Next you're you're going to say you're married."

"Engaged. But I'm glad you're willing to fly all the way out here."

"Are you kidding? Your book is hot. You've sold over a million copies in under two weeks. They are just flying off the shelves."

"So why you want to meet me?"

"Are anymore books in store for me?"

Aiara didn't think that far in weeks. She has been more focus on her personal life than her social life. Are there more books in store?

"I don't know. My family comes first at the moment."

"I understand but you have a contract remember?"

"What are you implying Jane?"

"I don't want to be the bitch in this situation but you can't break the contract."

"What if I do?"

"Can you pay half a million dollars?"

"You know Jane, I feel like somewhere in those words are a threat. Are you threatening me with lawsuit?"

Jane laugh nervously. "Of course not."

Aiara look around and wave for one of the guards. "You have a cheque book on you?"

"Yes ma'am." The guard hand the cheque book to Aiara.

"Let's make it one million dollars." Aiara wrote the cheque and slide it across the table.

"Aiara this isn't what I mean."

"Everyone is going to know what kind of publishing house K.L publishing is. There is nothing about money in the contract which means this is bull."

Aiara got to her feet and walk back to the car.

"You think that's a good idea madam?"

"Don't worry. That cheque have no use to her."

Aiara took out her phone and went to twitter. Her fingers flew across the screen as she types out a long message. She still can't believe they want to scam her. She has the contract for two days and within those two days she analysed it down to the very last details. There's nothing about compensation.

She will not let them walk so easily.
