Kayla's pov

It has been exactly one month since I have been back home with Billy and Emma. For the past few days, Emma has been experiencing morning sickness, which has weakened her voice. The sound of her voice was gentle and delicate as she called out to me through the door, informing me that breakfast was ready. It's heartwarming to witness Emma and Billy's joy because they are finally expecting a baby. "I will be down soon," I respond quietly to Emma, expressing my happiness for them.

I approached my dresser and paused to gaze at my reflection in the mirror. My appearance appeared worn, with dark circles under my eyes and various fresh and older injuries on my body. "So this is what you were hiding from me," Ricky remarked, gently grasping my wrists. His touch caused me to flinch. "How did you get in here? I thought the door was locked," I asked, pulling away from his touch. "Billy gave me the key; he wanted me to bring you to dinner tonight," Ricky explained, and I let out a sigh, avoiding his gaze. "Look at me," he insisted, but I kept my eyes downcast. "Look at me!" he yelled, forcefully raising my chin to meet his eyes. Tears welled up in my eyes. "Shh, baby, it's okay," he comforted, pulling me into a tight embrace.

"Ricky I don't feel too good," I say while grabbing onto him tightly. "What's wrong baby?" He asked "everything..." I say before passing out.

I scooped her up in a rush and bolted down the stairs. "I'm taking her to the hospital!" I called out, and Billy's eyes widened with concern. "What happened?!" he shouted, hurrying after me to the car. "I don't know, she grabbed onto me and then suddenly passed out," I explained as I carefully laid her in the back seat. "I'm coming with you!" he insisted. "No, you have to stay here with Emma and look after her. Who knows if Chris is going to come back!" I urged, and he nodded in understanding. "Please keep me updated on my sister," he requested, and I nodded before dashing into the car and speeding off to the hospital. As I carried her inside, my heart raced with worry.

"Please, she needs help!" I shouted, panicked, as a nurse came rushing over to me. "What's wrong with her?" she asked urgently as she carefully placed the patient on the bed and swiftly disappeared into a nearby room. "I don't know. She grabbed onto me and passed out; she's been unconscious for the past 25 minutes," I replied, feeling the weight of the situation sinking in. The nurse nodded reassuringly. "I'll have a doctor in here soon, but I'll get the IVs ready," she informed me before quickly leaving the room.

Seconds later, to my relief, Kayla started to stir. "Ricky..." her voice was barely a whisper, filled with vulnerability. "Yes, baby?" I gripped her hand tightly, trying to convey my support. "I want to go home..." she murmured, her distress evident. "Shhh, it's okay, baby," I reassured her as gently as I could, feeling helpless in the face of her suffering.

Just then, the doctor entered the room, bringing a sense of authority and capability with him. "I'm going to conduct some tests to determine what's going on with her," he stated, exuding professionalism and confidence. I nodded, grateful for his presence and expertise in the midst of the uncertainty.

After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the doctor finally re-entered the room. Before I could even turn to face him, I caught a glimpse of Kody and Chris out of the corner of my eye. My heart raced, and I found myself breathing heavily as I kicked the thin blanket off me. The doctor gave me a strange look and picked up his notes. "Well, Kayla," he began, "you're very dehydrated and severely underweight. The baby inside you is taking whatever little nourishment you have. You need to focus on eating more and getting yourself—and the baby—healthy." His words left me in a daze. "Congratulations on the baby, both of you," he added before leaving the room.

I couldn't contain my emotions any longer. "Ricky," I sobbed, "I saw Chris and Kody...they're here, and now I have to carry Chris' baby." Ricky pulled me into a comforting side hug. As I looked at him, I noticed that he remained silent. His expression seemed to suggest that he was grappling with his own emotions about the situation.

"Let's go," Ricky said quietly, his voice barely audible, as he helped guide me out of the comfort of the bed. Once outside the room, I felt a sudden, tight grip on my arm, making me flinch involuntarily. To my surprise, Chris and Kody were standing there, their presence casting a tense atmosphere in the hallway. Ricky looked worried as Chris spoke up, "So I heard the news that you're pregnant and carrying my baby," he said in a stern tone. Feeling a wave of anxiety wash over me, I slowly nodded in response. "I want you to get rid of it, or else," he demanded, his words hanging heavily in the air. My entire body froze at his ultimatum, and my voice trembled as I mustered the courage to ask, "Or else what...

"Or else this!" He shouts while grabbing his pocket knife out of his jacket and stabbing Kody in his chest. Blood poured out everywhere making Kody lifeless. "Maybe yours will be worse, I'll make sure everyone in that house watches. Ricky, Billy, Emma, hell maybe I'll bring Tessa out to see it. She's still pissed that Ricky didn't choose her over you!" He shouted.

Ricky swiftly scooped me up and began briskly walking out of the hospital. My vision was clouded with tears, and I struggled to hold them back. "You have 2 weeks!" Chris's voice echoed, and that's when the floodgates opened. "Ricky, we need to remove it from me. If we don't do it soon, I'm not going to make it," I sobbed as he settled me into the car. "We'll take care of it," he reassured me, his voice tense with concern.
