Ricky's pov

After hearing Chris's words, I couldn't shake the worry about Kayla's well-being if she couldn't deliver the baby. The thought of her dying was unbearable. Billy remained oblivious to his sister's plight, and I didn't have the heart to enlighten him. "Kayla, please wake up. We need to find medication for the baby," I urged, but she gazed at me silently, her eyes bloodshot from hours of weeping. "Ricky, what if we pretend the baby is ours? I can't bear to see another baby suffer," Kayla's voice was barely audible. "Kay, Chris will figure it out; we have no evidence that the baby belongs to us," I replied, and she let out a heavy sigh. "We don't even know if it's Chris's baby. It could be yours for all we know."

I sighed. "We haven't even had sex; I wouldn't do that to you after the trauma you have," I said, and she got up. "Fine..."  she said while pulling a hoodie over her head.

We made our way downstairs, the weight of the upcoming event heavy on our minds. As we passed through the kitchen, Billy's concerned voice stopped us in our tracks. "Where are you two going? It's 8 in the morning," he inquired, taking a sip of his coffee. "Just heading out to the store. Don't worry, I'll make sure she's safe," I reassured him, gently grasping Kayla's hand. Billy nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of the situation.

Kayla and I walked out to the car and drove to the parent planning place in silence, the tension between us palpable. "Ricky, I don't want to do this..." Kayla's voice trembled with hurt and uncertainty. "Baby, Chris will destroy you; I don't want that happening to you," I said, hoping to convey the seriousness of our predicament. She let out a heavy sigh, her internal struggle evident. "What difference does it make? I suffered in that place with you guys for almost a year?!" Her voice rose with frustration and anguish.

"Enough! We are doing this. End of discussion!" I exclaimed, feeling my own frustration boiling over as I slammed the car door shut and headed inside the facility. It took Kayla a long 5 minutes before she could gather the courage to step through the door, her reluctance a sobering reminder of the hardships we were about to face.

Kayla's pov

My heart was shattering with each passing moment. "I'm so sorry to bother you, but we had an unexpected pregnancy. We're not ready to be parents yet," Ricky said, and my eyes welled up with tears. The lady consulted her list for what felt like an eternity. "I'm so sorry, we're fully booked for the next month. We won't be able to accommodate you. Our next available location is about 3 hours away from here. If you change your minds, I'm sure you'll be happy parents," she said, leaving Ricky paralyzed with fear.

"No, no, no! You have to find an opening! Her life is in danger; she can't handle a baby right now!" Ricky cried out, and tears began streaming down my face. "I'm sorry, sir. We don't have any openings. You'll have to go to the next location," she replied calmly.

"Ricky, let's go..." I said, my voice cracking with emotion. Ricky let out a sigh and silently walked away. "You will be an amazing mother. I'm sorry we don't have any openings," a lady consoled me, but her words only added to my distress as tears streamed down my face. As I stepped outside, the weight of the situation hit me, and I couldn't hold back my sobs.

"Chris is going to take you away from me so soon... after we just got you back..." Ricky's voice trembled with intense emotion as tears streaked down his face. "I'm putting you in the basement to hide; Chris wouldn't find you there," Ricky informed me as he guided me towards the car. A sense of panic gripped me, and I blurted out, "Chris will check the basement! He's not stupid! If he were in the basement with you at my house, he would've found me, but instead, you did. I was hoping you would let me go, but instead, you dragged me back to that place," I said through clenched teeth as Ricky drove us back home.

"I'm sorry, Kay, I had to do it; Max was always watching us," Ricky explained, his voice strained. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in frustration. "Ricky, we need to get out of this dangerous situation and leave before he finds us!" I desperately urged him. "We can't leave, Kay... you don't know what he'll do to Billy or Emma if we leave," Ricky's voice was filled with anguish. "Then they'll go with us! You put them in danger! And even me!" I choked on my words, my fear and frustration consuming me.

"I want you to understand that I was not the one who put you in danger – it was Kody. He is the one who caused the car crash. He was aware that we were on our way to pick both of you up, but he acted independently and ended up causing you harm. I tried my best to keep you safe, but when they confined you to a room, I was powerless to intervene." After this, I fell silent for the rest of the journey home. I was too exhausted to keep arguing with Ricky.

After a lengthy and tiring drive, we finally arrived home. As I stepped out of the car, a wave of weakness and fatigue washed over me, but I was determined to manage on my own without seeking Ricky's help. I could sense that he was already irritated and distressed, so I didn't want to burden him further.

Billy's pov

As I was preparing lunch in the kitchen, I glanced up to see Ricky storming into the house, a mix of anger and frustration etched across his face. "Where's Kayla?" I inquired, concerned. Ricky let out a heavy sigh as he kicked off his shoes. "She's on her way. It's fine," he replied dismissively. "Is everything all right?" I pressed, sensing something amiss. "Yeah, it's just a minor disagreement," he assured me, though his eyes betrayed a hint of unease.

A few minutes later, Kayla finally made her way inside, looking disheveled and covered in mud. "Did you take a fall?" I asked, noticing the dirt and grime on her clothes. She nodded silently, her expression one of distress. "Kayla, there's blood on your leg," I exclaimed in alarm, pointing out the injury. Her eyes widened as she glanced up at Ricky. "What's really going on with both of you?" I demanded, feeling the tension in the air.

"It's nothing, I just stumbled and cut my leg," Kayla mumbled, quickly heading upstairs. "Ricky, if something's wrong with my sister, you need to tell me," I insisted, my worry growing. He rolled his eyes, dismissing my concerns. "There's nothing going on. She just had a fall and didn't want my help," he said, but his words failed to convince me, leaving me with a sense that he wasn't being entirely truthful.

Kayla's pov

I closed and bolted my door, fully aware of what had transpired. There was no injury on my leg from a fall. I hastily removed my shorts and underwear, revealing a pool of blood beginning to trickle. "I lost the baby..." I uttered softly, tears streaming down my face. Footsteps approached my door, prompting me to quickly barricade it with a chair to prevent anyone from entering. "Kayla, open the door," Ricky pleaded, but I shook my head, refusing to acknowledge him. "Please, Kay, let me take a look at the injury," he insisted, and I let out a quiet, resigned sigh.

"Ricky I need to be alone right now I'm sorry..."
