The next day after meeting with Billy
Tess pov
As I slowly opened my eyes, I found myself lying in my own room, surrounded by the familiar furniture and belongings. But my mind was in a state of turmoil as if a thousand thoughts were running through it at once. My heart was beating faster with each passing moment, as I couldn't help but think about Billy, whom I hadn't seen in three long years. Would he be able to help me escape from this place, which had become a living nightmare for me? The mere thought of him failing to rescue me was enough to make me feel nauseous and anxious at the same time.Kody barged into the room, his voice piercing through the silence. "Tess it's time to get up!" he shouted, his eyes piercing into hers. She winced at his words, feeling a sense of dread wash over her. "Kody... please don't hurt me," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm feeling way too numb for anything..." Kody let out a frustrated sigh, his arms folded across his chest. "Excuses are all you make," he said, his voice laced with anger. "And I know that you lied to your brother yesterday! I'm not stupid Tess!" His words stung, and she felt a lump form in her throat. "I didn't lie to him," she protested weakly. "He's family unlike you!" Kody let out a bitter laugh. "Love always dies, right Tess!" he shouted, his voice laced with bitterness. "How could I love someone who is so careless!"
As I stood there with Kody, my stomach began to churn and twist uncomfortably. Suddenly, I felt a desperate urge to use the bathroom. "Now if you could excuse me, I have to use the bathroom," I said, trying to remain calm. But Kody's response caught me off guard. "Sorry, can't let you!" he said, grabbing onto my arm with a firm grip. I tried to break free, but he held on tight. "Let go!" I shouted, my heart racing with fear and frustration. "No, Tess, I can't let you!" he spat back, his eyes glaring at me. I could feel my nausea getting worse by the second, and I knew I couldn't hold it in much longer. "I'm going to puke if you don't move!" I shouted, hoping that someone would hear me and come to my rescue. But Kody remained stubborn and unyielding, refusing to budge from his position.
As I stood there, completely helpless and on the brink of giving up, Ricky suddenly entered the room. Our eyes met, and I could feel my nerves getting more and more frayed by the second. "Kody, let her go before I get the boss man!" he spat, his voice filled with anger and frustration. But Kody didn't seem to care, and he spat back at Ricky, "He won't do anything!"
I felt my stomach churn with nausea, and I knew I wouldn't be able to contain it for much longer. "Kody, move!" I managed to push myself out of his grip and rushed towards the bathroom, hoping to make it in time. But Kody was not about to let me go that easily, and he followed me all the way to the bathroom door.
"Kody, leave her alone!" Ricky shouted, trying to intervene and put an end to this madness. But at that point, I was beyond caring about anything else. All I wanted was for this nausea to stop and for me to be left alone.
She was feeling nervous as she locked herself in the bathroom, wondering what to do next. She had a suspicion that she might be pregnant, but she couldn't be sure, as she didn't have a test with her. The last thing she wanted was to let anyone know, especially Ricky, who was outside asking if she was okay. "Tess you okay in there?" he asked. "Yeah... give me a few minutes," she replied, trying to sound as normal as possible.
She knew that her mom had given birth to many children, but she was only close with Billy. She missed him dearly and wanted to see him soon. "Hey Ricky..?" she said helplessly. "Yes, Tess?" he responded. "When do you think I can see my brother, Billy again..?" she asked, her voice laced with sadness. "I don't know Tess, I'm sorry," he said sympathetically.
After cleaning herself up, Tess left the bathroom, trying to act as if nothing had happened. She tried to hide her anxiety and fear, hoping that no one would notice anything was wrong. "Do you think that all of us can go to the store soon? I promise I won't escape this time," she said, hoping that they would be able to go. "I'll talk to Chris, but you have to stay by my side the entire time, do you understand?" Ricky said, trying to sound stern but caring at the same time. Tess nodded slowly, feeling grateful for his concern.
