He stood on the deck of his ship. A faint breeze lingered but the weather was prefect. The day was prefect.
Almost to prefect to Zuko
Azulon'sgate came into view. Past it was Caldera's harbor. Banners hung down celebrating him.
Celebrating Zuko coming home.
His Father wanted him home
It seemed to good to be real.
He felt a warm hand on his shoulder. Almost to warm. To tight of a grip for Zuko to turn around and see who it was.
"I'm proud of you Zuko." It was his father's voice. He told Zuko he was proud.
Proud
He blinked and Zuko was at the turtle duck pond. His mother's pond. But it was different, uncanny different.
No noise was heard and not a single duck was in sight. He look at the water and there was no reflection of his face. In fact the water seemed still like it wasn't even real
It didn't seem real.
"Zuzu!"
Azula?
Zuko turned around to see Azula running at him. She looked happy. He never saw Azula like this.
He was crushed by her hug. She was happy to see him. Should he be happy?
"Zuzu I so glad you're back. I've been looking for you everywhere. Father wants you at the war meeting."
This isn't true. Azula wouldn't hug him. Father wouldn't want him at the war meeting. He hasn't even captured the Avatar.
"But I haven't captured the Avatar. I shouldn't be here."
"Don't be silly Father wants you home."
She's lying
Azula always lies.
"I would never lie to you Zuko." Her smile contorted in a unnatural way.
He needs to find Uncle, where was he? He wanted to find Yurika. She would know what's going on.
He tried to turn away but Azula grabbed his wrist. Painfully pulling on him to stay. She burned the sleeve of his robe but it wasn't hot. It was deathly cold. Zuko was so cold.
Isn't this what you wanted Zuko?
"Don't leave me Zuko."
It sounded like his mom. And now Azula's smile was painfully unnerving. It was like a nightmare.
But this is your dream isn't it Zuko?
He pulled and pulled and finally Azula released him.
He blinked and he was in the palace court yard.
