Chapter 1 Sophie went back

A/n the last paragraph made me cringe the most but I am open for suggestions if you have any. I don't know if I will actually edit but I will read the suggestions.

Sophie didn't realize she closed her eyes until she opened them. "Miss Foster!" A loud and familiar voice cut through Sophie's blaring music she didn't remember having in. Wait. That's because she wasn't supposed to be there, she was back. Back in her twelve year old body, but that means- "Have you decided that you're too smart to pay attention to this information?" Sophie winced as a hundred mental voices split through her mind causing a headache.

"Why am i here?" Sophie asked. Mr. Sweeney looked taken aback by he words. "Why are you here? You're here because your parents signed a permission slip for you to come on this field trip. Now since you've decided you're above this lecture, why don't you give it. Mr. Sweeney asked. He pointed to the enormous orange dinosaur with a duckbill in the center of the room. " Explain to the class how the lambeosaurus is different from the other dinosaurs we've studied." Sophie realized that she must've gone back in time, so she recited the facts she had seen that day. Mr. Sweeney stalked off to the next exhibit with all the students behind him. Garwin Chang shoved past her and said something she couldn't quite make out because she was too busy taking it all in.

Sophie looked across the museum to find a teal eyed boy reading a newspaper. He looked up and locked eyes with her, disappointment flashed on his face. He started to close the distance between them, then he flashed his movie say at grin. "Is this you?" He asked, pointing to the picture. Sophie nodded. I thought so. He squinted at the image, then back at her. "I didn't realize your eyes were brown." "Uh, yeah. Let me skip all this, I've been watching you for years and I know you have been looking for me, I'm a telepath." His eyes widened and he started backing up, then he turned around and ran for the museum doors but he was running straight for a car. "Wait, I'm trying to help you." Sophie called, chasing after him. His head turned and locked eyes with a terrified driver. Fitz screamed as the car jumped the curb and hit a streetlight. The streetlight was inches away from hitting Fitz when Sophie thrust her arm up and caught the streetlight before his him. Fitz's eyes widened and he screamed"HOW'D YOU DO THAT." "Long story Sophie said as she set the lamppost down then she realized Fitz would tell Alden, so without a second thought she knocked Fitz out.

Sophie wiped his memory and put her memory of the first time they actually met. then she woke him up and made it seem like he never got knocked out. "We gotta get out of here" Fitz said. Which way? He asked as they reached the intersection. "Let's go to the zoo" Sophie says as she starts running. When they reached the zoo's parking lot she started walking. "You know, you're different from what i expected, your eyes really threw me off." He said. Yeah i know, I'm supposed to have blue eyes.

Fitz stopped walking to face her. "How'd you know that?" "Um, i read your mind" Sophie said, trying to save herself. "You shouldn't do that, it'll get you in serious trouble." "Oh sorry." Sophie said not sure what else to say. "Well, i guess i should tell you, you're not human." He bit his lip, wondering if I'd believe him. "Then what am i." I asked. "Sophie, you're an elf." He said. "Oh" she said, not sure how to fake being surprised. "I can prove it if you want" Fitz said. "Ok" she said. "Alright grab my hand and concentrate only on holding on." "Ok" Sophie says again. Fitz makes a weird face at her and she realizes she's said ok too many times. He pulls out his Pathfinder and on three they leap away. Sophie immediately lets go of his hand so it wouldn't be awkward again. "This is our capital, Eternalia, but you may have heard of it as Shangri-la. Right now there's an ongoing tribunal which is what happens when someone breaks a law." "I should get going before my parents get worried. Can you take me home?" Sophie asks. "Yeah, I'll be back tomorrow. Remember to be normal in front of your family " Fitz said before he whisked them away.

"There you are! Mr. Sweeney called me and said he saw you leave the museum with a boy, Sophie did he do something to you? Are you ok?" Sophie tugged on her eyelashes. "Ugh- stop doing that, well, i guess the important thing is that you are okay. But if you see that boy again i want you to run straight to an adult, do you understand." Sophie nodded. "Good. This is exactly why your father and i were upset about that article. You never know what some kind of weirdo will do once they know where they can find you." I'm fine, Mom. But there is something I want to tell you but you can't tell anyone else." The words slipped out before she could stop them. "Alright you can tell us after dinner." Her dad walked in right then. "Welcome home honey! Dinner will be ready in ten. Amy, come down." "How's my soybean?" Sophie's dad asked. Sophie's mom gave her the plates. "Your turn to set the table." Yeah soybean, get crackin." Amy said as she walked into the room.

When they finished eating, Sophie's mom asked"so what is it you wanted to say is Sophie?" Sophie sucked in a sharp breath. "It's not important, I don't know why i brought it up." "Now you have to tell us" Amy said with an annoyingly smug grin. Sophie blew out a breath. "Okay but you're not going to believe me. I'm not your daughter. I'm not even human." Amy erupts in laughter. "Stop stalling and tell us already." " I can prove it. Amy think of any word I'll tell you what it is." Amy smiles. "got it." "Ok, you were thinking of the tv." "That's a coincidence. I always think of the tv." Amy lies. Sophie smiles. "Could a human do this?" Sophie lifts the tv with her mind and brings it close to Amy. Sophie's parents and sister's jaw drops.

                             Later that day.

Sophie's family knocks on Sophie's door.
"Sophie can we come in?" Her mom asks. "Yeah" Sophie calls out. "Why did you just tell us this? Why not earlier we would've understood, mostly." "I didn't know before today the boy who i left with wasn't human either, he told me i was an... An elf." Sophie says. Amy smiles "wow that's crazy. I thought you were going to be an alien" "well there's something i haven't told anyone yet. I'm also from the future. Earlier today i was a couple years older but something happened and I went back a couple years." Everyone looked confused. But it was getting late so they all went to bed.
