A/n THIS IS NOT A PART OF THE STORYLINE. This was just a 4th of July special. Anything written in this chapter is not relevant for other chapters. Sorry.
Sophie was a bit disappointed because elves didn't have the same holidays as humans. In two days it would be the fourth of July, but no one knew.
"Hey Foster, why so sad?" Keefe asked as he plopped down next to her at Calla's tree. "Nothing much. I'm just a bit disappointed that elves don't have the same holidays as humans. In two days it will be the fourth of July. Not all humans celebrate that holiday, just people living in the U.S. but there's always big fireworks and sometimes people have a fancy dinner or picnic while watching the fireworks."
"Oh, well that sounds kinda boring." Keefe looked at his imparter. "Well, I have to go now. Bye."
*Keefe's POV*
He leapt to Dex's house and knocked on the door. Dex opened it and Keefe pushed straight past him. "Well, come in why don't you." Dex said sarcastically. "Sorry Dex. I need you to look up everything you know about the 4th of July for humans. Sophie is sad and we have to make her happy." He said confidently.
Dex hailed Biana. "If we're going to throw a party, we need Biana." Biana squealed. "I'll be right over!" Five minutes past, then a knock at the door. "I brought back up." She explained. Linh, Marella, Maruca, and Tam trailed in behind her.
"We have to figure out who all is going to the Forbidden Cities since we can't all go." Dex said. "I'll stay!" Tam called. "Well I think all of us should go." Biana said with a wink. They all changed into human clothes and leapt away.
*Sophie's POV*
Sophie sat there, staring into space. How could he say that? He wasn't the least bit worried about her. He said it was boring. Did he find her boring too? Is that why he left in such a hurry? She had started to realize that she had feelings for him, now he ditches her?
After a while Sophie stood up and walked inside. "Mom! I need ten mallowmelts. I might feel better after that." "Coming right up, darling. Do you want to talk about it?" Edaline asked as she walked into the kitchen.
"Not really. I just want to stuff my face until I feel better." Edaline sighed. "Ok, but expect me to ask later." Sophie stuffed her face with mallowmelts, then went upstairs to play with Iggy.
*Keefe's pov*
The next day
Ok, now that we have all these fireworks, and other fun stuff, we should figure out where to do it. I would say Have field, but Sophie lives there." Dex said.
"Hey, what if Sophie comes over for a sleepover at my house?" Linh suggested. Tam grumbled. "You promised me I could practice... That thing tonight."
"Ooooh. What thing? I must know so I can embarrass you later." Keefe said jumping up and down. Linh let out an evil laugh. "Sometimes he gets me to borrow Sophie's iPod so he can sing at our place."
Everyone burst out laughing while tam's whole face turned red. "You said you would never tell anyone." He pouted to Linh.
"Oops, I lied. Well, I'm gonna call Sophie."
*Sophie's POV*
Imparter rings
Linh: hey Sophie. I was wondering if you wanted to come over for a sleepover tonight so we can trade pet tips.
Sophie: sure. It's not like I've got anything better to do. when should I come over?
Linh: right now. Oh, but leave Iggy, our apartment has a no pets policy.
Sophie: then how do you have a murcat?
Linh: see you in five, bye.
Linh hung up
"Mom! Dad! I'm going to Linh's place, I might not be back tomorrow." Sophie walked up the stairs to the leapmater. "Misterium!" The crystals moved until they found the right one, then she leapt away.
*Keefe's POV*
It was July 4, only 6 hours before it got dark, and everyone was scrambling to finish decorating. Dex and Marella were throwing streamers everywhere. Maruca was helping Edaline make a bunch of desserts and refreshments. Biana was getting the fireworks ready. Keefe was laying out all the picnic blankets, adding a present to the one him and Sophie would share. The gift was a drawing of fireworks going off as keefe proposed.
Everything was ready. Linh was taking Sophie shopping for clothes, not letting her know what was about to happen of course.
There was 20 minutes until Sophie and Linh would arrive now they just had to wait.
*Sophie's POV*
Linh was being outrageous, she refused to let Sophie leave Atlantis until she bought a dress. Linh brought over a red dress. It wasn't fancy, but it had a nice twirl and came with flats. She went to try it on.
Linh squealed. It looks beautiful on you. We're buying it. Sophie left the dress on after leaving the store, since Linh insisted, and she leapt them to Havenfield.
Everyone jumped up. "Happy fourth of July, Sophie!" They all shouted. "You look beautiful." Keefe said as he walked up to her." Sophie smiled. "Thank you."
They all sat down on their picnic blankets, waiting for the fireworks to start. "Before the fireworks start, I wanted to give you a present." He handed her a canvas, and as she looked at it her heart skipped a beat. "Keefe?"
She looked over and he was on one knee. "Sophie Elizabeth Foster, will you marry me?" She tackled him. "YES, OF COURSE!" They laughed together and the fireworks started going off.
Sophie lasted her head on Keefe's shoulder, "I love you"
"I love you too."
