Chapter 14 - Meeting Anakin Skywalker

Qui-Gon returned to the ship with a young boy, no more than nine years old, whose eyes sparkled with an earnest curiosity that belied his tender age. Anakin Skywalker stood before us, a bundle of raw potential and untapped Force sensitivity.

"Everyone, this is Anakin Skywalker," Qui-Gon introduced warmly, his voice carrying a note of pride. "He has a strong connection to the Force."

I studied Anakin with keen interest, sensing the potent aura of the Force that surrounded him. There was an innocence in his demeanor, coupled with a deep-seated determination that spoke volumes about his character.

"Hello, Anakin," I greeted warmly, offering a gentle smile. "Welcome aboard our ship."

Anakin returned my smile shyly, his eyes flickering with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty. "Hi," he replied softly, his voice tinged with a hint of awe.

Obi-Wan stepped forward, his expression a blend of curiosity and cautious evaluation. "Qui-Gon believes you have the potential to become a Jedi," he remarked, his voice gentle yet probing.

Anakin's gaze shifted between us, his young mind processing the gravity of the situation. "I... I want to become a Jedi," he stated earnestly, his determination shining through despite his nervousness.

Qui-Gon nodded approvingly, placing a reassuring hand on Anakin's shoulder. "With training and guidance, you will have the opportunity to fulfill that aspiration, young one."

As we stood in the ship's corridor, bathed in the soft glow of overhead lights, I couldn't help but feel a surge of hope for Anakin's future. His presence among us felt like a twist of fate, a convergence of destinies that would shape the course of our lives and the galaxy itself.

"Come," Qui-Gon said kindly, leading Anakin further into the ship. "There is much to discuss and prepare for."

Obi-Wan and I exchanged a meaningful glance, silently acknowledging the weight of responsibility that now rested upon us. Anakin Skywalker had entered our lives, his journey as a Jedi Padawan about to begin. As we followed Qui-Gon down the corridor, I knew that our paths were irrevocably intertwined with his, bound together by the Force and the uncertain future that awaited us all.
