Frank felt optimistic walking into school that day, especially because Jamia was back.
Seeing her in the mornings definitely helped get him through the day, and with her being gone, it just made his days harder.
He was still upset she had leaked the video, but now that he had time to process it all, he realized her intentions were good.
Leaking the video didn't have her intended intention, but the thought was still there, and that's what mattered. It worked in a way though, more people were taking him seriously, but the ones who weren't, were just being cruel.
Some people still didn't believe it was rape since he was a guy, but Frank started to realize that no matter what happened, no one could convince them otherwise.
He just had to ignore it, and he knew he would be able to for the last months of school.
Plus he had his form of payback on that girl, he had scared the shit out of her with the STD thing, and that filled him with joy.
He could just imagine her crying in her bedroom, panicking about how her life was gonna change because of this. Her stupid actions had changed Frank's life, he might as well change hers for a bit.
"You did what?" Jamia gasped when Frank told her about the phone call. "Holy shit, that's hilarious."
"It was." Frank grinned, grabbing his books from his locker. "I wish I could have seen her face though."
"That would have been awesome." Jamia sighed, her gaze drawing down the hall, where Ryan, Brendon, and the other kid Mason, were approaching them. "Who's that?"
"Oh..." Frank started as he eyed them at the other end of the hallway. "H-He's that kid from the video that jock posted last year..."
"What?" She frowned, her eyebrows furrowed together. "Why is he with Ryan and Brendon?"
"The asshole drugged him, Jai, and because of that video, he doesn't have any friends."
"Oh, god." Jamia gasped sadly, her hand covering her heart. "That poor boy, we'll be his friend."
At that point they were close enough to hear, so instead of continuing the conversation, they just greeted each other.Frank introduced him to Jamia, who greeted him with a hug.
The bell rang after that though, so instead of actually talking, they all just wandered off to their classrooms.
Mason and Frank had the same first period though, so the two were left alone as the others rushed off to class.
"So..." Frank started slowly, dragging his feet as they walked towards the classroom. "How's uh, your arm?"
"What?" Mason spoke instantly, his body stiffening defensively.
"Your arm... the, you know... cuts." Frank stuttered out awkwardly, unsure of how he should ask about this.
He felt he probably shouldn't of mentioned it, but he couldn't help himself, he was worried about the guy.
"Don't." Mason shook his head violently. "Forget about that."
"I can't." Frank breathed out, trying to gain eye contact and failing. "I don't want you to do that to yourself... you shouldn't do that.""Leave me alone!" Mason practically screamed at him, not giving him a second look as he walked away from Frank quickly.
The outburst did hurt, but Frank couldn't be upset with him, he understood the random bursts of anger.
And maybe Frank had been too insensitive, but he didn't know how to go about this situation, he had never encountered someone who self harmed before.
When Frank reached the classroom, he took the only empty seat, which was next to Mason in the back. The other groaned and hid his face against the desk, expecting Frank to hound him some more.
Frank wasn't going to do that though, instead he was going to apologize
"Look..." Frank spoke softly. "I'm sorry for coming at you like that, it's not my place, and I shouldn't tell you how to live your life."
Mason slowly looked up at him then.
"I'm just worried about you, and if you decide you ever need a distraction, or want to talk about it... you can call me."Frank scribbled out his number on a piece of paper then, and Mason eyed it suspiciously before slowly accepting it.
"Thanks..." Mason muttered quietly, his heart secretly swelling at the gesture. "I appreciate it, and I accept your apology."
Frank didn't bother him after that, so the rest of class went by quietly while they did their work.
He really hoped Mason would reach out to him for help, because he desperately wanted to make him feel better.
