The day had finally arrived. Mikha woke up early and meticulously got ready. Just as she finished dressing, a knock echoed through the room. She already knew who it was."Beshie namin!!" Sheena exclaimed with excitement.
"Good morning, guys!" Mikha's eyes widened in surprise as she saw her long-distance friends—Jhoanna, Stacey, and Maloi. "Uy?! Nandito na pala kayo?!"
"Kamusta kana Miks!" Maloi enveloped Mikha in a warm hug, followed quickly by the other two.
"We heard that Aiah is staying here. Ikaw ha, para-paraan" Jhoanna teased, and Mikha pouted annoyingly.
"Wow, ready na siya. Excited?" Gwen's eyes twinkled with amusement.
"Ano ba. You know me, I don't like being late." Mikha quipped, rolling her eyes.
The girls brought breakfast to share at Mikha's dining table. Their conversation was lively, filled with plans and excitement about Aiah's arrival. Mikha, feeling a mixture of anticipation and nerves, couldn't help but smile.
"Mikhs.." Stacey started, a hint of concern in her voice.
"Yes, ano yun, Staks?"
"Hindi ba weird or awkward sayo?"
"Yung alin?" Mikha's curiosity piqued.
"Yung ano, dito mag-s-stay si Aiah, diba after she ghosted you, no communication kayo whatsoever." Jhoanna gently elbowed Stacey, signaling her to stop.
"Hindi naman. And tsaka friend ko parin naman siya. I mean, hindi naman ganon deep yung relationship namin noon. It was pretty normal." Mikha replied, toying with her food. The girls exchanged glances and nodded in understanding.
After breakfast, they quickly tidied up the kitchen. By 8 a.m., with Aiah's arrival set for 9 a.m., they scrambled to get ready and piled into the car. The drive to the airport from Mikha's house would take 40 minutes, so they couldn't afford to waste time. The air in the car buzzed with a mix of excitement and nerves.
Thirty minutes later, they passed by a drive-thru Jollibee.
"Guys, should we get food for Aiah? For sure na-miss nya to" Jhoanna suggested. The girls all agreed and looked expectantly at Mikha.
"Sure."
They pulled into the drive-thru, and Colet, seated in the shotgun seat, took charge of the order.
"Ano yung o-orderin natin guys?"
"Get her a Peach Mango Pie, Cheese Burger, and Pineapple Juice." Mikha said before anyone else could speak. "Favorite nya yan" she added.
"Grabe sya," Stacey poked Mikha's side. "Akala ko not that deep?"
"Not that deep nga. Hindi naman deep kung maalala mo yung favorite food ah." Mikha said, raising an eyebrow.
"Maalala parin after three years na?" Stacey teased her again.
Mikha rolled her eyes and turned her back on Stacey. The girls looked at each other and chuckled.
Time Skip
Arriving at the airport, the girls eagerly exited the car.
"Hindi ka ba sasama?" Gwen asked Mikha, who was focused on her phone.
"Hindi na, I'll wait for you guys here."
