Alex Pov

Gerson looked up from his work, and I took in his appearance. He was an elderly turtle with a warm, wise demeanor. His skin was a mottled green, and he had a long, white beard that added to his air of wisdom. He wore a safari hat that seemed a bit too big for his head, and his eyes twinkled behind a pair of small, round glasses.
What struck me most were the patterns on his skin—dark spots and lines that seemed to tell a story of a life well-lived. His shell, visible behind the counter, was sturdy and well-worn,. He held a magnifying glass in one hand, which he used to examine various trinkets and artifacts with care.
Despite his age, there was a vibrancy about him, an energy that matched Undyne's enthusiasm, albeit in a more subdued, controlled manner. He exuded a sense of calm and knowledge, like someone who had seen and understood much of the world, and yet was always eager to learn more.
Gerson's welcoming smile and the way he interacted with Undyne, who was practically bouncing with excitement, made me feel at ease.
Undyne's loud enthusiasm echoed through the shop, catching his attention. The elderly turtle, wearing a hat and a kind smile, looked up from his work behind the counter. He adjusted his glasses and peered at us curiously.
"Undyne!" he called out in a gravelly yet warm voice. "What brings you here today, and who's your friend?"
Undyne bounded over to the counter, her energy undiminished. "Hi, Gerson! This is Alex. I was on a patrol for bad guys , but I found Alex and he needs your help!"
Gerson chuckled, his eyes twinkling. "my help , you say? Well, you've come to the right place. I have all sorts of things that might help. What exactly do you need?"
I stepped forward, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "I'm trying to find a way to remember my past I cant remember anything . And... well, I'm also trying to understand something strange that happened to me."
Gerson's eyes narrowed with interest. "Hmmmm you losing your memories is bad enough yet something even stranger, happened you say? Tell me more, young one."
I explained the situation, describing the fall, the panic, and how my hand had turned goopy and save me. Gerson listened attentively, nodding thoughtfully.
"Hmm while I cant directly help you with your memory problem I may have a suggestion." Gerson nodded thoughtfully. "Well, there is one thing. We could do a 'CHECK' on you."
I frowned, unfamiliar with the term. "What's a 'CHECK'?"
Gerson smiled reassuringly. "A 'CHECK' is a technique we use to understand more about someone's abilities and traits. It's a way to get insights that might not be obvious at first glance."
I hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, let's do it."
Gerson stepped closer, raising one hand. "Alright, just hold still for a moment."
As Gerson began to focus, I felt a strange feeling enveloping me. It wasn't too invasive, just a soft poke in my head that seemed to flow through my entire body. His eyes closed in concentration.
The sensation intensified slightly, and I felt an odd sense of clarity. It was as if Gerson's magic was helping me understand parts of myself that had been hidden. After a few moments, the glow faded, and Gerson opened his eyes, a thoughtful expression on his face.

IS UNDER THE AFFECTS OF ££%$$$*&
Gerson nodded, absorbing the information. "It seems your health is normal " he said. "But there's more to it. It says here you are currently under the affects of something but it to hard to read "
I looked at Gerson, a mixture of fear and concern in my eyes. "So, what do I need to do to fix this?"
Gerson smiled, a twinkle in his eye. "First, we need to work on controlling your emotions as it seems that it is tied to your magic. Secondly, you need to practice under different conditions, not just fear but other strong emotions. And lastly, you'll need to experiment with your abilities in a safe environment ,so that you don't hurt anyone on accident."
I nodded, feeling a sense of calm. Undyne leaned in, practically vibrating with excitement. "See, Alex? I told you Gerson is the best! He knows everything!"
Gerson chuckled again. "You flatter me, Undyne. Now, let's see what we can do. First, I have some maps that might help you navigate these caves. And as for your magic, Alex, I have a few ideas that might aid in your training."
He rummaged behind the counter, pulling out a couple of rolled-up maps and a small vial filled with a shimmering liquid. "This potion might help you. It's not a magic fix, but it could give you the energy you need to as I can see you haven't been sleeping well."
I accepted the items gratefully. "Thank you, Gerson. This means a lot."
Undyne grinned, her enthusiasm undimmed. "This is going to be so awesome! We're going to find the way out and master your goop hand, Alex! Let's do this!"
