The guards left Grillby's, their footsteps heavy in the snow as they marched through the quiet streets of Snowdin. One of them kept a firm grip on Alex, who was still unconscious, his head slumped forward. Their expressions were stern but uncertain. This was not an ordinary arrest, hell they wernt even arressting him and they knew it. The incident inside Grillby's had been completly unexpected.
One of the guards, a tall, stoic monster named Gaar, glanced down at Alex, frowning beneath his helmet. "That kid... he's dangerous. But I don't think he knows it yet."
His partner, a smaller, more excitable guard named Fen, nodded but looked conflicted. "I've never seen anything like those tendrils. They just... exploded out of him. You think he's a threat?"
Gaar sighed, adjusting his grip on Alex. "It's not about what we think. The king will decide. But if he's capable of that kind of power without control, he could be a danger to everyone in the Underground."
They passed through the gates of Snowdin, the path ahead leading them throughWaterfall while cutting through both Hotland and the Core straight to New Home. The snowfall was gentle, but the weight of the armour was anything but. The quiet between the guards deepened as they walked, the cold biting at their skin, but their minds were elsewhere.
"We should've brought Captain" Fen muttered. "She'd know what to do with someone like him."
"Cap has her own responsibilities," Gaar replied, though he shared the sentiment. This situation felt far bigger than any of them.
As they approached the long road leading to New Home, the towering castle in the distance, Fen spoke up again, lowering his voice. "Do you think the king will...?"
Gaar didn't answer right away, his eyes fixed on the cave ceiling above the castle. "I don't know. But whatever happens, we'll follow orders."
They walked in silence for a while longer, the grand silhouette of the castle casting a golden shade on each of them.
Fen glanced at Alex again, a hint of pity in his eyes. "Kid probably doesn't even know what he's in for."

The guards entered the grand hall of the castle, its towering pillars casting long shadows across the polished stone floor. The room was quiet, save for the soft echo of their footsteps. At the far end of the hall, seated on a large throne, was King Asgore. His imposing figure, crowned by a gentle but sad expression, watched as the guards approached, carrying the unconscious Alex between them.
Gaar and Fen knelt before their king, still holding Alex's limp form. Asgore's gaze fell on the boy, then back to the guards. "Report," he commanded, his voice deep but still kind.
Gaar stood first, his voice steady. "Your Majesty, we were called to an incident in Snowdin. This boy... he unleashed some kind of panic induced magic in Grillby's bar. Tendrils, destruction.. out of control. It caused significant damage. The boy collapsed afterward, seemingly from the strain."
Fen quickly added, "We don't know how much he's aware of his own abilities. He didn't seem like he meant to hurt anyone... but the power he displayed was—"
"Dangerous," Gaar finished for him. "We don't know if he's a threat, but we thought it best to bring him to you directly, Your Majesty."
Asgore listened in silence, his eyes drifting back to Alex. He sighed deeply, the weight of leadership evident in the lines of his face. "I see... This magic... does it feel like a monster's magic to you?"
Gaar hesitated. "It's... different. There's something off about it. Not like any monster we've seen, but not purely human either."
Asgore nodded, his brow furrowing in thought. "You did well bringing him here. We must tread carefully." He rose from his throne, the soft rustling of his robes breaking the quiet of the hall. "Take him to the lab. Dr. Alphys is there; she will know what to do. Tell her everything, and make sure the boy is treated with care."
Both guards nodded, rising to their feet. Fen glanced at Alex one more time, still uneasy. "And... what about after, Your Majesty?"
Asgore's expression softened slightly, though a hint of sadness lingered in his eyes. "We will see what the boy is capable of when he awakens. For now, let us give him a chance to recover."
With their orders clear, Gaar and Fen carefully lifted Alex again and began their march toward the Underground's lab, where Dr. Alphys awaited.
=======÷=============
The inside of the lab was cluttered with gadgets and half-finished projects, the usual sign of Dr. Alphys' work habits. Screens flickered with data, and the hum of machinery filled the room. At the far end of the lab, hunched over one of the monitors, was Alphys herself, her glasses perched precariously on the edge of her nose. She was too engrossed in her work to notice the guards until they cleared their throats.
She turned with a start, her eyes widening as she saw them approach with Alex.
"G-Gaar? Fen? What—what's going on?" she asked, her voice shaky but curious. Her gaze flickered from the guards to the unconscious boy they were carrying. "Who's this?"
Gaar stepped forward, setting Alex gently down on one of the medical tables. "This is Alex. There was an incident in Snowdin. He... unleashed some kind of magic. Dark tendrils—destructive. We brought him here on King Asgore's orders."
Fen chimed in, "Asgore wants him treated. He said you'd know what to do, Doctor."
Alphys frowned, adjusting her glasses nervously as she approached the table. She examined Alex cautiously, her brow furrowed. "Dark magic? But... monsters shouldn't have access to something like that. Not unless... there's something strange about him?"
"That's what we thought too," Gaar replied. "His magic feels off. Not like any human or monster we've seen. Asgore said to make sure he's treated with care, and to tell you everything."
Alphys gave a quick nod, already running her fingers over the scanners and equipment nearby. "O-Okay, I'll... I'll take care of him. But this sounds... complicated. I'll need to run some tests."
Gaar and Fen exchanged a look, relieved to have handed over the responsibility. "We trust you, Alphys," Fen said. "We'll be outside if you need anything. Asgore said to keep a close eye on him, just in case."
