I turned to see a small figure with bright orange hair and blue skin, standing confidently with hands on hips. Wait, what? There's someone else here? Am I saved?

"Hey!" I called back, scrambling to my feet. "Who are you?"

The figure smirked and took a step closer. "I'm the one who's gonna save you, obviously. Follow me if you wanna get out of here alive."

They then proceeded to trip on thin air and land on their face.

"......"

"................"

".................Well Damm I'm fucked aren't I."

WAIT A MOMENT

Fucking BLUE SKIN

My excitement deflated instantly. Really? This was my savior?....a fish child that cant walk.

She quickly got up, brushing herself off with an embarrassed look. "Okay, that didn't go as planned," she muttered, her cheeks turning a shade darker.

I sighed, feeling a mix of disappointment and amusement. "You sure you know the way out?"

She shot me a determined look. "Of course I do! Just... watch your step. These rocks are tricky."

I couldn't help but chuckle a bit, despite everything. "Alright, lead the way, then."

As she started walking again, this time more carefully, I followed. Despite my doubts, Maybe she did know a way out. And even if she didn't, at least I wasn't alone in this strange, glowing cavern anymore.

As we walked, I kept glancing at my unlikely savior. Her confident stride, despite the earlier mishap, was oddly reassuring. I decided to break the awkward silence.

"So, what's your name?"

She spun around with a bright grin, her orange hair bouncing. "It's Undyne! And you?"

"I'm....... Alex. How did you end up down here?"(Really Alex that's the best i could come up with?)

Undyne's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I'm on a patrol! I'm always looking for loads of bad guys to beat down plus  I'm training to join the royal guard  What about you?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Royal guard  what's  that?"

She grinned even wider. "You know, like police , Warriors, and an army! there looking for recruits to join and when I do ill be the captain ya hear me then ill suplex all the bad guys"

I couldn't help but sweat drop. "Sounds like a story out of a book. But you seem pretty young to be doing all that."

Undyne puffed out her chest. "Hey, I'm tougher than I look! I can handle anything the underground  throw at me. What about you? where in the underground did you come from ?"

I sighed, thinking back to the messed up memories then the endless falling and the weird hand transformation. "Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. One moment, I thought I'd found a way out, and the next, I was falling. Then my hand turned into some kind of goop and saved me from another fall."

Her eyes widened with excitement. "No way! Goop hand? That's so cool! Can you do it again? Show me, show me!"

I shook my head. "I've been trying, but I cant seem to figure out what triggers it. Now it just tingles a bit and stops."

She nodded eagerly. "That's awesome! Maybe it's like a superpower that only kicks in when you're in danger! We gotta figure out how to trigger it. Oh, this is gonna be so much fun!"

I chuckled. "Easier said than done. How about you? Any special tricks up your sleeve?"

Undyne grinned and struck a pose. "I'm super strong and super brave! And I can summon a spear.

I smirked. "Ya right"(there is no way a chi-well dam

"I seem to be incorrect in my previous statement" And why wouldn't I be when I have a literal-

neon green spear being held up to my face by a blue skinned fish child

She laughed, a loud, infectious sound that echoed through the cavern. "Okay, okay, you got to see your body its literally shaking there! But hey, nobody's perfect when it comes to handling my epic-ness, right?"

Thankfully she put it away(and by "put away" I mean she made it disappear into green sparks.)[totally not jealous]

"So, where are we headed?" I asked, breaking the awkward  silence again.

"There's a passage up ahead!" she said, pointing to a darker area of the cavern. " It leads  to old Gerson's shop. We should totally check it out!"

I nodded. "Lead the way, then. And watch your step."

She pouted. "oh come on it was one time let it go!"

=============================

Undyne led me through the winding tunnels with boundless energy. We finally reached a place where the path split into several directions. Straight ahead was a structure that immediately caught my attention. It looked like an old, somewhat worn-down shop, its entrance marked by a glowing sign in an unfamiliar script. A small, bright-red box sat to the right of the entrance.

The shop had a welcoming glow emanating from within. The walls around it were smooth and slightly damp, reflecting the light in a way that made the whole area feel almost magical.

Undyne bounced on her feet, her excitement palpable. "See, I told you I knew where i was going, This shop has all sorts of neat stuff. Maybe they can help you with your terrible magic skills!"

I approached the entrance cautiously, peering inside

"hey I haven't even had magic for more then a week you cant blame me"

"What do you mean, everyone and their kids can do magic even if theirs are a little weaker then adults."

"well, maybe I could use magic before but this dam memory loss makes it hard to know if I actually did."

"..Maybe Gerson can help with that come on lets go inside and ask him!" with that she promptly kicked open the door and walked in as if she lived in their.

The interior was cozy, filled with shelves stacked with various trinkets, potions, and oddities. The air inside was warmer and smelled faintly of herbs and something sweet.

"Wow, this place is amazing," I muttered, stepping inside. The shop was a treasure trove , each item seemingly more interesting than the last.

Undyne followed, practically skipping with excitement. "Gerson's shop is the best! He knows everything about the underground and its history . If anyone can help you, it's him!"

I looked around, taking in the details. The walls were lined with old maps and faded posters, adding to the shop's charm. It felt like stepping into another world, a sanctuary of knowledge.

Undyne's enthusiasm was infectious (and loud).decided to look for this "Gerson" herself.

"HEY OLD MAN GERSON YOU HERE!" she screamed into the empty shop.

"UNDYNE! why are you shouting its not like I'm deaf, Dear you don't need to be so loud."

And with those words and elderly figure-turtle(?) man appeared behind the desk.
