It was a normal day for Vivienne, filled with the comforting routines she was growing accustomed to in La Push. She started her morning at college, where her English class with Quil had become one of her favorite parts of the day. Quil's easygoing nature and quick wit made the hours fly by, and they spent much of their time exchanging jokes and laughing at each other's antics.
As they worked on a group assignment, Quil nudged her with his elbow, grinning mischievously. "Hey, Viv, what do you think? Should we turn this into a comedy skit instead of a presentation?"
Vivienne chuckled, shaking her head. "I'm pretty sure Mr. Green would fail us on the spot."
Quil shrugged, his grin widening. "Maybe, but at least we'd go down in history as the funniest group in English class."
"Tempting, but I think I'll pass on that," Vivienne replied, still smiling.
The rest of the class continued in a similar fashion, filled with light-hearted banter and shared laughter. By the time the bell rang, signaling the end of the period, Vivienne felt a warm sense of contentment. She had found her place here, surrounded by friends who made even the most mundane tasks enjoyable.
After college, Vivienne headed home, looking forward to another evening of Embry's questionable movie choices. Despite his terrible taste in films, she loved these moments of camaraderie and relaxation.
Back at the bungalow, she found Embry sprawled on the couch, remote in hand and a stack of DVDs on the coffee table. He looked up as she walked in, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Hey, Viv! Ready for another cinematic masterpiece?"
Vivienne rolled her eyes playfully, setting her bag down. "Masterpiece? More like disasterpiece. What've you got for us tonight?"
Embry held up a DVD case, wiggling his eyebrows. "The Room. It's a classic."
She groaned, but there was a smile on her face. "You and your awful movies. Fine, put it on. Let's see how bad it is."
They settled in, the opening credits rolling as they got comfortable on the couch. As the movie progressed, Vivienne found herself laughing more at Embry's running commentary than at the film itself. His playful jabs and exaggerated reactions turned the experience into a comedy act, and she couldn't stop giggling.
Halfway through the movie, Embry paused it and turned to her, a mischievous gleam in his eye. "Alright, Viv. Let's hear it. What's your review so far?"
Vivienne wiped tears of laughter from her eyes. "It's... it's a train wreck, Embry. But I have to admit, your commentary makes it worth watching."
He grinned, clearly pleased with himself. "Told you. I make even the worst movies bearable."
They resumed the film, their laughter filling the living room and creating a sense of warmth and belonging. By the time the credits rolled, Vivienne felt a deep sense of gratitude for these simple yet meaningful moments.
As they cleared away the snacks and switched off the TV, Embry gave her a curious look. "So, anything interesting happen today?"
Vivienne thought back to her day, the lighthearted interactions with Quil, and the overall sense of normalcy. "Nothing out of the ordinary. Just the usual—college, laughing at your terrible movie picks, hanging out with friends. It's been a good day."
Embry nodded, his expression content. "Good to hear. Sometimes, it's the ordinary days that are the best."
Vivienne smiled, agreeing wholeheartedly. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks for making them fun, Embry."
"Anytime, short stack," he replied, ruffling her hair affectionately.
As she headed to bed that night, Vivienne couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Her life in La Push was settling into a comforting rhythm, filled with laughter, friendship, and the promise of new adventures.
