12th Chapter

MINGYU's POV

The meeting with the Park Corporation was smooth. As expected, Chairman Park Seo Jun's feelings for my older brother haven't vanished yet. Both parties agreed that the engagement be confidential until the wedding is finished to avoid an unnecessary commotion.

Well, that was more in favour of my brother who is currently pregnant. It is going to be a huge ruckus to the media and we wouldn't want negative publicity.

My brother is taking everything in very well so far, I don't wanna say he just gave up and let things be, but I guess he accepted that this is his only option to be safe from our father's diabolic brain.

He is halfway through his pregnancy and the doctor told us that his baby is growing healthy. His belly bump is already obvious but he can still hide it with baggy clothes.

"Hyung, let's go shopping today" I suddenly wanted to start buying things for his baby

"What for?" he knitted his brows in confusion

"For the baby's clothes and other stuff" I said excitedly. "Let us start decorating the room as well" he smiled, that beautiful boxy smile he always had, it's been a while since I saw it. It suits him very well. I feel that he is starting to come back, slowly but surely.

"Silly, we don't even know the baby's gender yet!" he says that but his expression shows how happy and excited he is.

"So what hyung? babies are babies and color is genderless, no matter what the baby wears, they are who they are, fuck gender norms and stereotypes" I proudly told him.

I hated how society dictates what clothes people should wear and that some people are frowned upon if they go against the standard, well, fuck that. We will raise this child free, we will teach him diversity and respect towards the differences in every individual. Clothes and color have no gender! Wear whatever you want as long as you are happy.

We went straight to the mall and I ordered the store staff to prohibit other people from coming in while we are inside. I want their full attention on us.

I just grabbed whatever I want without thinking putting them in the basket the staff was holding while my brother's head just kept on turning left and right as if watching a tennis match.

"Kim Mingyu!" he exclaimed in disbelief

"What now?" I looked at him with a confused stare

"Why the hell are you trying to purchase the whole shop?" his eyes were about to pop with the way it is opened wide

"I am not?" I argued

"You literally are you moron! baby is gonna outgrow those quickly stop wasting money just because you have it!" what he said just made me realise that one important detail.

"Oh! you are actually right" I said

"See!" he gave me that "I told you so" look as he said

So I turned to the staff and said "Please give me all these designs on all sizes" both the staff and hyung had their jaws drop on the floor

"You are unbelievable Mingyu thats is not what I even meant!" my brother looked like he wants to shave my head bald already.

"Well, the baby is gonna outgrow them quickly so we need all the sizes, easy" I shrugged my shoulders looking like I did the right thing

He held both my shoulders and stared into my eyes seriously.

"Kim Mingyu...Repeat after me okay... having money is not an excuse to waste... People are suffering day and night because of hunger... I can always go back here if I need anything else." He slowly said those sentences emphasizing every important word.
