The strong, loud clatter of his shoes echoed through the vast, polished hallway adorned with modern art. Each step was measured and deliberate. He came to a stop in front of the imposing brown oak door, its surface worn and familiar.
Not long ago, he had stood before it.
He glanced at the secretary standing beside him, her smile polite and professional as she asked, "Your name, please?" He didn't have an appointment, and she needed to check the list to see if he was expected before allowing him to enter.
He glared at her before abruptly pushing the door open wide. The secretary's eyes widened in shock at his sudden action, and she quickly tried to intervene. "No, sir... sir, you can't enter without an appointment!" she exclaimed.
But her voice went unheard, as he was focused solely on entering through the big door. She cursed under her breath and hurried after him, determined to show him his place. After all, no random person could just walk into their boss's office anytime they pleased.
Jung-gwon, who was seated in his office engrossed in his work, was startled by the loud sound of the door being flung open. His eyes snapped up, his brows knitting together in a mix of annoyance and surprise. He was ready to curse and punish whoever had dared to enter without his permission, his irritation mounting.
He smirked when he saw who the intruder was. Excited? Hell yes. His pulse quickened with anticipation. The secretary's eyes widened in alarm as she stepped in, frantically apologizing for the breach of protocol.
"I'm so sorry, sir. I didn't mean to let anyone in without an appointment. Please forgive me," she pleaded, her voice trembling as she tried to rectify the situation. But Jung-gwon's attention was already fixed on the intruder, a sense of thrilling anticipation coursing through him.
"I am sorry, sir. I'll immediately inform security to throw him out," she muttered, her anger simmering beneath her professional facade. She feared losing her job for letting someone so insolent enter. But, oh boy, she had made a mistake.
Jung-gwon glared at her, disapproving of how she spoke to Moon, but he couldn't openly defend Moon at this moment, could he? So, he cleared his throat and spoke, his voice steady and authoritative.
"Leave and do not disturb me for now," Jung-gwon commanded.
Though surprised, the secretary didn't question her confusion and politely took her leave. Moon, observing the interaction, rolled his eyes as he finally found himself alone with the infamous Jung-gwon. Saving himself to make a scene in front of a third person.
He clenched his jaw hard before taking large strides towards the alpha, gripping his collar and jerking him harshly. Jung-gwon only smirked, his eyes meeting the fierce gaze of the beauty before him, a gaze that not even age could diminish.
"You! What did you do to my son?" Moon demanded, his voice edged with fury.
He didn't appreciate the smirk the alpha was showing off. He wanted answers, and if he didn't get them, he was ready to use any means necessary to extract the truth.
"I told you! Gwon! Didn't I? Yet, you still went ahead with it. Do not provoke me, Gwon. I can go to any length to save my child, and you won't be able to protect yourself if I find out you're involved in this matter. And don't underestimate me just because I am an omega," Moon seethed, his grip tightening on Jung-gwon's collar as his eyes burned with unwavering determination.
Jung-gwon chuckled, his hands softly clasping Moon's wrist as he pried it off his collar. He straightened the wrinkles in his shirt and stepped away from the male before coolly speaking.
