A new series of crime began that targets both unfortunate women and men that still holds the title of being a noble with a history of being corrupt, by the Lord of Crime's doing. You were not unaware of what William has been doing behind his other persona as the middle child of the Moriartys, but fully accepting him nonetheless. Though in his recent escapades, it seemed that his attention seems to be consumed almost entirely by it that only left you intrigued. This is because he would always share some information behind his actions as well as why the victims need to be eliminated, but recently, he seems to evade your curiosity that made you suspicious.
The seed of concern starts to grow when his recent victim was just a commoner, a woman that was working in a shady part of town. You are still doubtful about whether it really was William's doing since it seemed out of the ordinary from his usual ones. He is currently away that left you to have no recipient of your increasing questions before you decided to do some investigation of your own. Clutching the newspaper at hand, that presents the information about the recent killing, you sighed before checking the address and comparing it to the current location you found yourself standing nearby. The photo matches your background after a bit of observation.
It was just a simple alleyway fitting for any unpleasant business to occur, whether it be any forms of crime or just a means for the victim to acquire business partners for her work. The building from its left is a simple tavern that would be a good source for her business to escort anyone that wishes her company quite intimately so while a simple inn is adjacent to the infrastructure to place the alley between both establishments. You decided to enquire anyone who might give you appropriate answers for you to understand more of the bigger picture behind William's possible motive. It was already unusual for him to suddenly target a non noble.
You adjust your clothing to further blend in with the crowd inside the tavern, sighing in relief after noticing that no one seemed to mind your approach before you made your entrance within the establishment proper. As expected, the place reeked of alcohol that is made stronger because of the mixture of different varieties of it as you let out a few coughs after noticing that a hint of cigarette smoke is also present. You sighed before taking a moment to compose yourself and to adjust to the new and unfamiliar environment, making your to the bartender right in front of you that is tending to the alcoholics near the counter not a moment after you're ready.
"Excuse me, good sir. May I disturb you for a moment? It's quite an important matter about this..." You carefully slide the newspaper against the wooden counter away from a few patrons after the bartender makes their approach to what he supposed was an unassuming customer.
