The sound of my phone ringing woke me up from my sleep. It was vibrating inside my pocket that's why I decided to pick it out and found out that Naoki was calling me.

I lazily pressed the answer button and placed the phone near my ear while laying down, looking at the wisteria flowers dangling on the air as the wind continues to blow them in a soft manner.

"Where are you? Ijichi is requesting your assistance." He said the moment I answered my phone.

"I was napping." I answered in a bored tone, fixing my blindfolds.

I could hear voices coming from the other line, they seem to be in panic because I could sense it, just by how they converse with each other.

"What's happening out there? Are the higher-ups having some trouble that only Satoru Gojo can solve?" I joked while Naoki scoffed.

"You wish. I'd just have to send you to Aomori, there's been a report that a vengeful cursed spirit is on the loose there. Since you're the only one available and reliable, I'll trust that you'll finish this mission." He didn't even bother to wait for my reply and ended the call.

"Only one available? Is the vengeful cursed spirit that strong that I am the only option left?" I muttered in a low tone as I stood up and folded the mat that I've been laying down then stared at the lake for a while before I decided to wear my zip-up jacket.

I went inside the rest house and packed my things before I left, taking the bullet train to Aomori. Of course, I didn't forget to buy snacks along the way since I'd be bored.

After three hours, I arrived at Shin-Aomori Station. Ijichi is already waiting for me outside the train and we made our way to the car.

"We received reports that a vengeful cursed spirit has been roaming around Mount Hakkōda, we actually sent three Grade Two sorcerers in the area for the past week, none of them came back. We can't reach them either." Ijichi explained as he handed me the data through the tablet. He then proceeded to drive towards the location.

"Hmm. Any leads?" I then asked. There might be something going on there for a vengeful cursed spirit to rise.

"It has been reported that about a month ago, someone died while hiking. There was a storm during the day that they hiked the trail." He replied.

"They? You mean he's not alone?" That piqued my interest.

Ijichi nodded, "He's actually a tour guide. We went up with two other people, a man and a woman. The two were found at the foot of the mountain the next morning, disoriented."

Now that caught my attention. A vengeful spirit suddenly appears and takes down three second grade sorcerers. A man who died from the storm while the other two survived? Suspicious.

When we arrived at the drop off area, I immediately felt the immense cursed energy around the place. It started raining so suddenly that's why Ijichi went inside the car and grabbed the umbrella so that he wouldn't get wet by the rain.

"This is where you last dropped the sorcerers?" Ijichi nodded and pointed at the trail. I couldn't feel their energy anymore, the cursed spirit must've concealed, ingested, or killed them already.

The closest possible answer would be the third one but I do hope it's not. After I told Ijichi about my hunch, he lowered the veil.

"Be careful, sir."

I started walking on the trail, feeling the cursed spirits swarm closer to me as I went deep into the forest.

"Ah, seriously. How am I gonna exorcise them without doing much damage in the forest." I scratched my feed, trying to think of ways. I'm not really the one fit to do this job because of how destructive my power is.
