"Best for last"

As usual I'm grumpy when I wake up. Looking to the right of my bed I see its empty, meaning Haley is already woke. Walking into my bathroom I wash my face and brush my teeth. As I head downstairs I hear the two familiar female voices I was looking for.

"Good morning" I mumble, taking a seat on a stool at the island.

"hey there sleeping beauty" Haley greeted.

"Good morning sweetheart " my mom says all chirpy . I notice she's cooking my favorite breakfast meal; confetti pancakes, eggs, bacon with a side of fruit.

"so what happened yesterday? " Haley teased. At that moment everything that happened last night came back to me, sending a giant smile to my face.

"Well Jason had took me to an art museum. He didn't talk much as usual, he would stare at me and smile and say cute little things here and there" I told

"its just like you to not pick up on things " Haley mumbles, shaking her head. My mom hands us our plates and we thanked her as she sat to join us.

"anyways I thought we were done hanging after that but nope, I was wrong. He took us to our favorite place from when we were younger - Malibu. We made little bets on who'd win which games and he was laughing and smiling more. I ended up-"

"losing, we know" Haley interrupted

"actually before I was so rudely interrupted. I was going to say i ended up winning most of them. After we left there we went to eat. When we got there he took my phone and I didn't know what he was doing, I thought he was being his usual pranking self and was pulling a joke on me like changing my passcode. we joked and had fun in the beginning but towards the end he got all nervous and antsy. Being his best friend i know he only gets nervous if he's scared of messing up something that's really important. He pushed my questions aside and left me in the restaurant by myself to make an important phone call. The phone call was to me, I was kind of stunned. When he took my phone he changed his contact name to "Be my girlfriend" and if I declined that was a no and if I accepted its a yes. Of course I accepted it and here we are" I finished off with a giggle, taking a bite of my strawberry.

"awe, that's so cute of him!" My mom exclaimed.

"Never would I have expected Jason to have a cute side" Haley admits.

"so what are we doing today?" I asked changing the subject before I don't shut up about him.

"we could go shopping, have lunch, get our nails done then come back and have a movie night" my mom suggests.

"that sounds like a plan" I say

"I'm down for it" Haley agrees . As I put my plate into the sink, I remembered I never changed Jason's name back in my phone.

"ill be back" I say quickly running up to my room. I grabbed my phone off the charger and sit on my bed. I go to Jason's name, and change his contact back to ' doofus' . I go through all my notifications, then get on Instagram. Scrolling through my feed and liking pictures. I hear my door open.

"hey babygirl" Jason greets, I stand up and walk towards him.

"hi" I say smiling, he wraps his arms around my waist and gives my lips a peck. I pull away and go back to my bed, he takes a seat at the bottom and leans back to me.

"did you have fun last night?" He asked shyly.

"Yes, it was great. It's the best fun I've had besides Haley's definition of fun" I joke which makes him crack a smirk. He lays his head in my lap and my hands automatically go to run through his hair.

"what are you doing today?" He asked

"I'm hanging with my mom and Haley. We're going shopping, our nails done, lunch and having a movie night " I told, not breaking my eyes from his closed ones.
