I sat in my car . It shouldn't be a hard day at school today . I mean I did all the work from the days I missed . No one really knows why , except my friends . It really shouldn't be that bad .

I climbed out of the car and took a deep breath . I walked inside the school and headed straight for my locker . Haley and Tess where standing right next to it . I smiled and they returned .

" Hey girls !" I giggled and waved

" What's up carter ?" I just shrug and dial in my combination . I put my bag inside and close it .

" Are you ready to head to class ?" Tess asked and I nodded . We were talking and walking to class when I seen Caleb . He had a cut on his lip , and I little one on his eyebrow . Along with a little bruise on his jaw . I look at Haley and see her smirking .

" You really thought I wasn't gonna do anything ? " she laughed a little .

" no way in hell he was gonna get away with cheating on you " she scoffed and we walked into the class .

My day went by pretty smooth and good . Every time I was in the hall I seen Caleb . He would look at me with an apologetic look , but I would just look away and keep on going . I was in my last period of the day ...Trig . We were just taking notes and watching the teacher do examples on the board and stuff . The my phone buzzed . I picked it out of my pocket and seen it was a text from my mom .

' hey sweetie , I just wanted to let you know I'm going on a business trip ...it's going to be for one week . I'm so sorry . I'll be leaving a little while after you get home . But I just wanted to let you know baby '

I read it and was alright with the fact she was leaving . I'm used too it , but no matter what she's always gonna be there . I put my phone away and listen to the teacher talking about the lesson . I'm ready to leave so I can see my mommy .

Yay ! schools over ! I quickly go to my locker and grab my bag and start heading outside .

" Carter ! " I know that voice , nope I'm not turning around .

I didn't phase what had happened piss me off . I'm not gonna be upset at the world ! when my mom is leaving for a week .

" I'm going to California , I left money on the kitchen counter . I also went to the grocery store . You're dad knows and he's gonna stop by probably a few times also . " She told me and I nodded in response .
