"I don't like it." I state, looking a my mom. She brought home some food a co worker made and it is nasty.
"Is it really that bad?" She frowned, taking it back and looking at the nasty shrimp pasta.
"Yes, it has no flavor and everything is hard. Who told her she could cook?" I snorted making my mom gasp.
"Don't." She laughed, tossing the food in the trash. My dad can cook better than that and he hates cooking.
"I pray for her children." I laughed making my mom join in. Our laughs are so similar it's crazy. We almost sound the same.
"Please, honey. Stop." She giggled. She takes a seat across from me and pulls out her phone as it dings.
"So mom, what are you doing today." I put my elbows on the table and lean my head into my palms.
"Well.. I'm going out... On a date." She speaks slowly. I slowly lift my head from my hands and stare at her.
"Hold up, wait a second... So you like have a boyfriend?!"
"Not quite. We've been talking and such, it's been a while so I agreed to a date."
"Mom! I'm happy for you!" I smiled widely. I'd like for my parents to be together but sometimes things don't work out. So as long as they both are happy, I'm a happy daughter of theirs. If they have to see different people to be happy so be it. I'd rather that than them to be miserable with each other.
"What's his name, what's he like, where'd you meet, does he have kids, how old-"
"Woah slow down there little lady. If things go well, maybe you can meet him in a few weeks." She explained. I hope he's nice because my mom doesn't need a douchebag.
"This is awesome!" I sighed, leaning back in my chair.
"I'm glad you approve, I don't want a guy my child hates. That's not a good thing." I nod in response. That's how it was for Anna. Her mom started dating a guy and Anna absolutely hated his soul. She didn't have a justified reason to but she knew something was iffy about him. Her mom ignored her and kept messing with the guy and turns out that guy tried to rape, Anna. As well as take all of her moms hard earned money she was saving for Anna's college tuition. Boy did her mom beg for Anna's forgiveness.
"So what are you doing today?" My mom returned the question I asked her minutes ago. I shrugged.
"I'm going over to Jason's." I told her what happened two days ago at Haley's and she talked with me, giving me some of that wisdom she has.
"Oh, tell him I said hi. And take him those cookies I baked today."
"I thought those were for me?" I frowned.
"Now they're for, Jason." She smiled, tapping my nose as she stood up. I followed right behind her as she made her way into her room.
"I have to find clothes." She stood in front of her closet with the super woman pose; tapping her foot. I took it upon myself to lay across her bed and see what she pulls out. She had so many cute outfits picked out, I of course told her to wear the yellow all because it's my favorite color and it looks good on her.
"Okay mom, I'm leaving now." I climb off her bed and stretch my body.
"Okay, wait! Leave Leo." She pouts and I nod, rolling my eyes. She loves him so much. I grab my phone, the cookies, slip on some shoes and give leo a kiss before leaving the house. You'd think Jason would live far out since his house is excluded and surround by acres of land and trees. But actually he only lives 25 minutes away. I'm greeted by the face of Ryan, when I knock on the door. His gang is home.
