『Reader POV』

As Sethos leads me out of town, drawing out every bit of excitement and anticipation from me, I can't help but think of this as a date. Even though he wouldn't call it one, it brings me a bit of reassurance to imagine him planning a real date with me. I accidentally let out a small squeal as my exitement takes over and I clutch my fists.

Sethos glances at me from the side, seeing my sudden outburst of energy. "Are you... okay?" He asks, not able to suppress his smile. My cheeks turn a deep scarlet as he speaks and I nod quickly. "Don't mind me." I chuckle awkwardly.

"Mhm." He nods, giving a small smile. I glimpse at his hand ever now and then, wishing he'd just take mine in his. My fingers practically itch and I clasp my hands together, sighing. No, no, no, no, no. I cant just ask him to hold hands. That's weird and awkward.

We walk along a path flanked by tall grass, the sun casting a golden glow over everything. Sethos continues leading the way with confident strides, occasionally glancing back at me with a small quirk of his lips that I swear hints at amusement.

I steal glances at him whenever I can, trying to read his expressions. Is he enjoying this as much as I am? Does he feel the same flutter in his chest? Or am I just imagining things, projecting my own hopes onto his casual demeanor?

"You know," Sethos starts, breaking the comfortable silence between us, "I'm glad you agreed to come with me today."

His voice is soft, carrying a warmth that makes my heart skip a beat. I manage a smile, feeling a rush of relief that he's enjoying this too. "What do you mean, do you think I'll be just lazing around just because it's Sunday? But I'm glad too. It's nice to get away from everything for a while."

"Yeah, it is," he agrees, his eyes meeting mine briefly before turning forward again.

As we walk, I notice a small creek up ahead, its perfectly adding to the serene atmosphere. Sethos slows his pace slightly, as if sensing my admiration for the scene.

"You know," I venture, my voice quieter than I intended, "this feels... almost like a date." Shit. I said something stupid. Fuck. Oh goodness. I'm doomed. He's gonna think I'm weird. All kinds of bad things cross my thoughts before a noise interrupts my thinking, snapping me out of my panic.

Sethos chuckles softly, the sound sending a pleasant shiver down my spine. "Does it? I suppose it does."

My cheeks flush at his response, grateful for the dimming light that hopefully hides my embarrassment. "I mean, not that it is. But, you know..."

He looks at me, a teasing glint in his eyes. "You'd like it to be a date?"

The directness of his question catches me off guard, but I meet his gaze steadily. "Haha, no... that's not what I meant." That's exactly what I meant, dumbass!!! Get the hint! I keep my breathing calm and shrug it off. "I'm not really interested in dating anyone at the moment." Of course I am! What are you saying, stupid??

I shrug it off, so does Sethos. It's both a relief and a curse that he's completely oblivious to my feelings. Guess I'll just have to deal with that... Maybe I should ask Cyno- no. Bad idea. Tighnari is the better option.

Suddenly, his hand brushes mine and I flinch, pulling away. "Oh, sorry- I didn't mean to startle you." I quickly try to cover my exaggerated reaction as I see Sethos surprised expression. He waves away. "No problem. Lost in thoughts again, I assume? Ahh, y'know what? You'll walk against a tree if you don't pay attention." He grins, and takes my hand, intertwining our fingers. "Zone out as much as you like," he teases as he squeezes my hand.
